Tickled Pink Stamps for Shabby Chic Card

Hi! I had a quick play in the craft area before work this morning, and really went outside my comfort zone.... (okay, so it's not purple.... so not completely outside my comfort zone) come see -
I started out colouring my image, which is from Tickled Pink designs. I found her 'trench coat' really hard to colour, so decided to paper piece it instead. I have used my Stampin' Write Markers and some retired Stampin' Up! DSP for the coat. I cut her out and then built my card. The base is So Saffron, layered with Crumbcake which I ran through the Big Shot with a circles embossing folder. I sponged the edges, and then sewed around it (messily.) The centre panel is a piece of Pretty in Pink layered up with some patterned paper from Echo Park (I think) and some lace which I have stitched in place. I pierced two holes in the top of the centre panel and threaded some twine through and tied a bow. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up and is called Friendly Messages and has been stamped on to a Spellbinders Label. I added 4 little pearls to finish off this card.
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch and next up is The Corrosive Challenge 'shabby chic' challenge

Balloon Kaylee for a cute, bright birthday card

So, I was on a bit of a crafting buzz last night, as I want to use all my 'scrap' patterned paper, and I spied the iSpy Sketches challenge and thought it'd work perfectly for using some scraps...
I had picked out this patterned paper, from Echo Park to play with. I loved the colours on it, and decided to colour up Balloon Kaylee to match. I used my Stampin' Write markers and a blender pen. When she was completely dry, I went over her balloon using my VersaMarker and put clear embossing powder with holograhic glitter over the top, and heat set it. I layered up my patterned paper and some Baja Breeze card stock and stuck them on to my card base. I stamped my sentiment, and then cut a nestabilities shape for Kaylee to sit on.
I am entering this into the iSpy Sketches challenge which can be seen below or at the link.

The Greeting Farm - Just for You

Hi guys! I was on a bit of a crafty roll yesterday, I managed to get three (!) cards made. But, because I'm not sure when I'll be crafting next I'm going to schedule the posts on my blog for the next few days.... So, keep an eye out :) Here is one of the cards I made last night
I actually made up this card base for something else, and didn't particularly like it with the image I'd coloured, so I had it sitting on my desk ready for another image.... The patterned paper is from Echo Park ("This & That - Charming") and Bo Bunny. The ribbon is some from my stash, it is White satin ribbon and Olive scallop dots. The card base is Stampin' Up! Old Olive. I cut a nesties shape out of white card, stamped a sentiment from a retired SU! set  - The Best is yet to Be, and then stamped this cute little guy from The Greeting Farm (Just for You) onto watercolour paper and coloured him in to match the patterned papers. I think he turned out really well. I then fussy cut him out and popped him on a bunch of dimensionals.
I am entering this card into the Anyone For Anya? Sketch challenge this week. It was pure luck that I had popped the papers on the card this way from my previous attempt at a card... :-P
Thanks for popping by!

Magnolia circle friendship card

Hi again! I'm back with this weeks Feeling Sketchy card, we're well on our way to reaching 200 likers (and a giveaway) on our Facebook Page so pop on over and keep up to date with what the Sketchettes are doing!
Here is this weeks sketch, which once again I stressed over, but as soon as I sat down to create, I loved!
Circle cards aren't something I usually make, because I don't have any envelopes to fit them :P Silly excuse really! Here is my card -
I cut out a scallop circle out of white card and a regular circle from patterned paper (retired) from My Minds Eye, I think it was Quite Contrary range, although, I could be wrong.... I then set to colouring this Magnolia image with my Stampin' Write Markers and blender pen. She was actually really easy to colour! I tried a different colour combination for her hair too... Usually a blonde is So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and More Mustard, but, I wanted a softer, lighter blonde, so switched out the Mustard with Crumbcake. I love how her hair came out, as it either makes or breaks an image I've found! So, once she was all coloured up, I fussy cut her out, and focused on the sentiment circle, which is a Spellbinders Labels 10 cut out of white, sponged with Crumbcake. I went over Magnolias wings and the label with some tombow craft glue, and then while it was still wet, sprinkled a bunch of glitter over the top adding just a touch of sparkle to the card.
We'd love to see you over at the Feeling Sketchy blog, so why not drop round and play?

Some Odd Girl - Royal Mothers Day Card

I know mothers day has been and gone, but I have to show you the card I made for my mum.
I made up a Centre Step card (it was the first time I've made one) using this tutorial. I messed it up twice before reading the instructions properly :P Anyway... I used Crumbcake card for the base, layered up with Soft Suede and the now retired Sale-a-bration designer series paper. I cut a Spellbinders Oval out, and sponged it with Pool Party and a touch of Soft Suede ink then focused on this beautiful stamp from Some Odd Girl. I stamped her once on to watercolour paper and once on to patterned paper. On the patterned paper, I cut out just her dress and top and added shading using the Stampin' Write Marker that matched the paper. I then coloured her skin, hair, eyes and lips. I cut her out, and felt she needed the crown, so I stamped it using Versamark and heat embossed it using Gold Zing embossing powder. Her crown is only outlined, and it didn't have quite the oomph I wanted, so with my Versamarker and coloured the crown in completely and re-heat embossed it using more Gold Zing. (Oomph achieved!) I stamped the sentiment "You deserve the Royal treatment" and added some red bling to it and her crown.
I am entering this card into the Stampalot monthly challenge which my wonderful friend Annmaree told me about. Their challenge this month is Medals or Monarchs
Stampalot challenge
Have a wonderful day!

Some Odd Girl - Tweet Kaylee for a Hello Card.

Hi again!
Yesterday, I went into work early, so I was home by midday (wooh!) and after napping, decided I really needed to craft.... So, I printed out a digi image that has been in my stash a while and coloured her up -
This is Tweet Kaylee, and she was printed directly on to my watercolour paper. I then used my Stampin' Write Markers to colour her in, being careful to avoid the printer ink (it will smudge.) I then fussy cut her out and set her aside to create the rest of my card. The base is White card, layered up with bright yellow paper from Echo Park and some retired patterned paper from Stampin' Up. I then tied a big bow using Ivory Horizontal Stripe ribbon from Ribbon Carousel  *swoon* and stamped my sentiment "hello" using my Basic Black Marker. I added some red rhinestones to finish off the panel and popped Kaylee up on a whole bunch of dimensionals!
I am entering this into three challenges (cause I needed a lot of help with this one) the first is the Ribbon Carousel Sketch which I have edited slightly to fit my image, next up is the colour challenge for The Paper Players and last but not least is the Bright Colours challenge over at Some Odd Girl.

Magnolia "Relax" Card

Hello Again! Back today with the newest Feeling Sketchy post which should have gone live the same time this post does :) Don't forget to pop over to our Facebook page, and 'like it' as there will be a giveaway at 200 fans! Here is this weeks sketch -
And my interpretation -
This is my first ever Magnolia card....! I coloured her using my Stampin' Write Markers and blender pen, and then cut her out. I used a Crumbcake base layered up with papers from My Minds Eye, and a Spellbinders nestie scalloped circle, and normal circle. I stamped "Relax" which is from Unity in Island Indigo ink and sponged a grounding for Magnolia. I layered everythin up, and then popped Liquid Pearls around her jewellery and the scallops. The butterfly punch is by Martha Stewart, and has been punched twice, once in patterned paper, and once in Vellum.
Thanks for dropping around, and we'd love to see your creations over at the Feeling Sketchy Blog!

Sweet Anya and I create a Mother's Day card

Hi! I stayed up late (ish) last night, talking with Annmaree (emu) and playing with paper... Perfect night really! Here is what I made -
I had the background paper out from another project, which I'd decided not to use, so I couldn't let it go astray. It is from the 6x6 paper pad Fabulous by Simple Stories, I've layered it onto some Crumbcake card and then set it aside to colour my little Anya. I stamped her on watercolour paper, using Staz On ink, and coloured her with my Stampin Write Markers, I also added a touch of shading to her skin using Tombow watercolour marker 990 (light sand.) I popped her to the side, and continued building my card. I cut out a doily from vellum using my Cheery Lynn French Doily Die, and glued it down to the patterned paper. I attached some hand dyed lace from D-Lish Scraps and added a button and a little bit of jute twine. I stamped the sentiment, from Stampin' Up!'s Friendly Phrases onto a piece of Confetti White card stock (sponged with River Rock ink) and attached it to a slightly bigger piece of Crumbcake before attaching it to the card base with small dimensionals. Lastly, my Anya, stuck down with higher dimensionals.
I am entering this into three challenges - First is the Tuesday Morning Sketch which I have been meaning to get back and play with... Next up is the Ribbon Carousel "word to your mother" challenge for mother's day, and finally the Anyone for Anya? Lace challenge
Thanks for popping by!

Some Odd Girl - Thank you Mae

Hi guys! It's been quiet over here recently huh? Well, last week, I got home from work to find that my housemate had packed his things, and moved out. He'd left me a note... Yeah, so I was a bit devastated, add to that the fact that my uni assignment is due today (finished it earlier!) and I haven't had time or energy to craft.... I made this card though last night, as I needed a break....
This card started out very differently in my head.... But, I do love where it ended up! I actually coloured and paper pieced Mae (Thank You Mae stamp set) a couple of nights ago, and then lost motivation, so she sat on my desk looking up at me with those big green eyes, until I added her to a card.... The base (which is hard to see) is Crumbcake, layered with Vanilla cardstock and patterned paper from Kaisercraft and Simple Stories Fabulous Paper Pad. That big doily? It's a new addition to my ever growing die collection, one from Cheery Lynn Designs, which is a new line The Stamp Spot is carrying! I added a strip of Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon and tied a bow. The sentiment is from the Thank You Mae stamp set, and was stamped on scraps of Crumbcake card, and cut to fit. I added 6 black little rhinestones to finish off this card.
I am entering this into the Some Odd Girls monthly challenge, which for the month of May is a sketch (see below) I loved the design teams interpretations :) I am also entering this into the Ribbon Carousel's Photo Inspiration I took inspiration from the colours of the photo :) Also, a big Happy 1st Birthday to the Ribbon Carousel!!

The Greeting Farm - Glimmer Bean

Hi All! It's time for me to play at The Stamp Spot Blog - So, here goes....
I started off this card knowing that I wanted to use this paper from Basic Grey, it's from the Lemonade Collection and is called Flower Garden. I sat and looked at the paper, and coloured my image to match, using my watercolour markers. I then fussy cut her out, and set her aside. I used some lace from the store, and layered it on to the patterned paper, then using two MFT Dienamics (Mini Rolled Roses, and Rolled Rose die) I cut out three roses, one from Pirouette A4 cardstock and two from some felt from my stash. I added a brad to the centre of the larger rose, which I had covered in embossing powder, and heat set. Then while it was still warm, I rolled it in glitter and heat set it again. I cut out a nestie label and doodled around the patterned paper, and label before attaching everything together and onto a cardbase. The sentiment is from My Favourite Things and was stamped in black ink to finish off this card.
This card fits the requirements of the May challenge - why not play along?

Gorjuss Princess with Teddy Bear and I make a birthday card

Ok, so once again, it has been quiet on my blog... But, I do have a reason... I have an assignment due this week, as well as some unexpected bad news, so, I haven't had any craft mojo... at all! Until, today... I had a lovely friend drop round, and bring me flowers *squee!*
And, I got to colour in a stamp I received in the mail a few days ago, that I hadn't had time to play with yet.... I also received the Bloggess' book in the mail on Thursday, so my nose has been buried in it! It's just as funny as her blog, and just as scattered and awesome.... Anyway, onto my card -
I used some cardstock mum had cut up for me last time she was here (I think it is Cherry Cobbler, but could be wrong..) and patterned papers from Simple Stories Fabulous 6x6 Paper Pad, My Minds Eye and one a little piece from some 6x6 papers Annmaree sent me. The oval is cut out using my newest addition to my ever growing Die collection - Spellbinders Classic Ovals... I then put lots of dimensionals on the back of this Gorjuss Image and attached her. I coloured her using my Stampin' Write Markers, and a Blender Pen. If you know me, you'd know I can't go past putting ribbon on a card right now.... And this on was no exception... I used Ivory Cotton Twill  and some Stampin' Up! Seam Binding Ribbon to tie a bow. I stamped the sentiment, (from PTI) and added some silver stickles to her crown and her teddy's crown and three little rhinestones to finish off this card.
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the sketch from iSpy Sketches, next up is the two anything goes challenges over at Ribbon Carousel and Simon Says Stamp

The Greeting Farm - Cuddle Anya and I create a Birthday Card

Hey Hey! I got some happy mail in the post today, which included a stamp from The Greeting Farm (it was on clearance, so I believe it has been retired) Cuddle Anya. I was itching to colour her up!
Isn't she adorable?!! I coloured her with my Stampin' Write Markers, Blender Pen and on Watercolour paper. I then fussy cut her out. I then got my papers together, the music paper is from Kaisercraft, and the yellow spots is from some off cuts I had (so, I don't know what it's called) I grabbed a ruler and a fine tip pen and did a bunch of doodling around the patterned papers and the Nestabilities frame. I attached all the layers together, and grabbed some really nice horizontal stripe ribbon from Ribbon Carousel (can you tell how much I love this company??) I stamped my sentiment in VersaMark, and embossed it in black. For the full tutorial, check the video below, from my favourite crafter Danielle Daws
Isn't she clever? I wouldn't have thought of this.....
Anyway, I'm entering this into three challenges, the first is the Music challenge from Anyone For Anya?, next up is the two anything goes challenges, the first from Ribbon Carousel, and finally the challenge from Simon Says Stamp.
Thanks for popping by!

Some Odd Girl - Gifty Gwen and I make a For You Card

Hi guys! Sorry I have been a terrible blogger lately... I've been quite busy house hunting and working. So, I haven't had a lot of time in the craft room, and when I've been in there, my mojo has gone walk a bouts... I did get a flash of mojo this afternoon though and created this card -
This is a Daffodil Delight (Über bright!) and layered it with Basic Gray and some fun, ticket patterned paper from My Minds Eye Dilly Dally 6x6 paper pad. I then set to colouring Gifty Gwen (The Stamp Spot stocks a range of Some Odd girls!) I coloured her with my Stampin' Write Markers, and a blender pen, cut her out and added her to some white card with some foam dimensionals. I tied a Island Indigo bow around the white card and layered it onto some Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray card. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up, and finished off the card with some bright red rhinestones.
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Ribbon Carousel Challenge, which this week was to use bright colours.... Surprisingly, I really struggled with this.... I think it's the lack of mojo! And next up is the Card Patterns Sketch which I put extra layers on... I'm not usually an excess layer person, at all!
Thanks for dropping by!

Some Odd Girl

Hello! I have my DT post for The Stamp Spot going live today! Here is my card -
I started off with a Vanilla Cream card base, layered it up with some Lavender card stock and a piece of Eskimo Kisses patterned paper by Basic Grey. I stitched the patterned paper to the Lavendar with my sewing machine and white thread. I then layered up a MFT Die-namics woodgrain embossed fence in Kraft card and some pretty Herringbone Ribbon. The image is the Some Odd GirlsSmell the Flowers Tia and has been coloured using watercolour markers before being cut out with my Nesties. I added some Stickles to her barrette and the flower centres. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up from Just Believe stamp set. Behind the Kaisercraft paper flowers, I have cut out some leaves using this die. I added some plain silver rhinestones to finish off the sentiment, and the card.
This card fits all the criteria for this months challenge - Brown, Ovals and Stitching.  I love the different interpretations of this challenge, as none of them are even remotely similar! I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Gorjuss Flying Above it All and I create a Blank Card

Hi Hi! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, mine was very quiet... I have been crafting (Wooh!)
I have used a plain white card base for this card, layered up with Sahara Sand and some free patterned paper that I got with a magazine. (Simply Cards, Issue 96). I have then layered some White Satin Pleated Ribbon (from the Ribbon Carousel, I have an addiction to buying beautiful ribbon from this store!) and some Stampin'  Up! Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon. I then got to colouring this beautiful image, from Gorjuss, her name is Flying Above it All, with my Stampin' Write Markers and a blender pen. I tried about 10 different sentiments on this card, before deciding it was better off with out one... I did add some silver bling to finish off this card though.
I am entering this into the Ribbon Carousel Sketch challenge and also the Embellish Magazine colour/bling challenge
Thanks for dropping by :)

Kaisercraft Butterfly stamps and Patterned paper on a Blank Card

Hello! Day 2 of my 4 days off of work, and I had a quiet one at home, with watching movies and lazing around... So will be getting out of the house tomorrow, and clearing my head
This is a Baja Breeze card base, layered with Lucky Limeade and some patterned paper by Kaisercraft. I cut out the circles using my Big Shot and layered them in Basic Gray and White. I stamped, and coloured my butterflies, the first two in Gray and the final one with Baja Breeze, which I covered in sparkly holographic embossing powder to make it 'pop' I added a strip of Celery Grosgrain Ribbon and tied a bow.

Some Odd Girl - Hey Kaylee and I create a "Hello" Card

Hi guys! Not that long ago, Some Odd Girls held a blog hop for their newest releases, and I was lucky enough to win a prize! I won this lovely stamp set
Isn't it just the cutest stamp set ever? Well... I finally had a chance to ink her up this evening... and created this card
A Crumbcake (Kraft) card base layered with patterned paper from My Minds Eye, Wisteria Wonder card stock which I have run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder, and another piece of Crumbcake which I have wrapped some thin Calypso Coral ribbon around and made a multi-looped bow with a brad securing them together. The Kaylee looks incredibly pale in this photo, but I will try to get a better one in the sunshine tomorrow, she was coloured with my Stampin Write Markers.
I am entering this in to the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week, which is the sketch below flipped to make a vertical card...

Birthday Anya and I create a bright Birthday Card

Hi there! I have another fun, bright card to share with you tonight! It's funny, when I'm not in the best of moods, I seem to relax and create cards that I'm happier with than if I am feeling good, and happy.... hmmm weird... Here's my card -
Today, while I was down the shops, I bought the Simply Cards (Issue 96) magazine, which came with some bright, fun patterned papers. I layered some onto a white card base, and wrapped some beautiful double banded Grosgrain ribbon from The Ribbon Carousel and tied a bow , I then tied a bow in some red twine, from The Twinery (via the Stamp Spot) and stamped my sentiment from Up, Up & Away (SU!) The main image panel is a Spellbinders Die sponged all over with blue ink and a scallop circle, to create clouds, this little girl is Birthday Anya, and she was coloured using my Stampin' Write Markers and Blender Pen (duh!) I have added two punched strips of blue patterned paper and some Stickles Glitter into the scallops punched out... I have done a bunch of doodling right around the edges of the patterned paper. (not very neatly... hehe)
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the TGF Farm Fresh Friday Spy Day, and also their Monday Funday Anything Goes Challenge, and last but not least is another entry into the Ribbon Carousel Twine Challenge.

Only a few more days to get your name into the draw for my Blog Candy! And, Don't forget to head over to the almost here new sketch challenge blog - Feeling Sketchy!

C.C. Designs paired with Kaisercraft Hummingbird Collection creates a Summery For You card

Hi Hi! I had the house to myself again tonnight, so, I got to do my favourite thing in peace... Craft! I also went to Spotlight today, and came back with the Kaisercraft Hummingbird 6.5"x6.5" paper pad, which I had to use straight away! So, here is one of my efforts:
This is a Poppy Parade card base, layered with some Hummingbird paper (the red pieces are foiled, and oh so shiny!) I coloured this C.C. Designs Honey - Summer using my Stampin' Write Markers and then fussy cut her out and popped her on a distress inked circle. I placed the diecut circle on a pretty white doily and wrapped some red and white bakers twine around with a tag that says 4 you.
I am entering this into two challenges, the Anyone For Anya Sketch challenge and the Ribbon Carousel Twine challenge
