Some Odd Girl - Octopus Birthday Card for Dad!

HEY HEY!
I've been crafting again, and just haven't gotten around to photographing/blogging/uploading them yet... I have a card going into my stores (Madeit, and Etsy) tonight, so keep an eye out!
Anyway, on to the card for my dad
I started with the Octopus stamp, which came in my last Some Odd Girl Order, (he jumped into my cart, before I had a chance to say "Stop, don't, come back"), I coloured him up with my Spectrum Noir Markers, and then set him aside, I grabbed some patterned papers (from American Crafts), and doodled around the outside. I added a strip of ribbon and a sentiment. The anchor is from the stamp set, I've embossed it in silver.

Some Odd Girl - Valentines Day Card

Hello! I realise I'm a tad early for Valentines, but I wanted to have a good stock of cards in my store, come mid January, so here is my first one!
I actually struggled a little with the design of this card, but I grabbed a Some Odd Girl stamp, Hey Kaylee, colouring her up, using my Spectrum Noir Markers, I then embossed some red card stock, and grabbed a piece of My Minds Eye patterned paper. I doodled around the edges of everything, and stamped my sentiment, which is a mix of The Alley Way Stamps, and the Hey Kaylee Sentiment.

Bugaboo Stamps - Australian, Tropical Christmas Santa

Hiya!
Yesterday, I had a crafty play date with a friend. "Hi, Lydall!"
Part of that, for me was to make some Christmas cards, for my own personal stash to send out...
Here is the first of my cards -
I started by printing out a Bugaboo digital stamp (tropical santa) and colouring him up, using my Spectrum Noir markers. I then grabbed some patterned papers, in non-traditional Christmas colours (Echo Park, and My Minds Eye) and layered them up with some doodling around the edges. I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment, from Stampin' Up, then die cut it out, and added my Santa...

Scrapbooking - D-Lish Scraps December Inspiration Board!

Hiya!
I have some exciting news, to share... Amanda, from D-Lish Scraps asked me to be part of the Summer creative team for the Inspiration Board challenges that are set every month at D-Lish
So, this months challenge went live about 2 hours ago... Here is the Inspiration board -
I started out looking at the inspiration board, and was struck by the butterflies, and the flowers, so they were my main focus. I used patterned paper, from Webster's Pages, and some cream card stock. I added some gold doodling... The pic is from a recent girls night out.
I gold embossed a filigree metal butterfly, using Gold Zing embossing powder, I also used a carnation, a mini pvc doily, in cream and some gold metal roses, oh and a heart pin.
Next to the photo, I've used a gold foil doily ( love these!), a chipboard butterfly, which I've gold embossed as well, another pvc doily, heart pin, carnation and more gold roses, I also added an apricot rhinestone circle for an added touch of bling!
Love how this page came together, in the end, everything just fell into place!
Don't forget to check out the D-Lish Scraps Just Add Paper Kits (going up this afternoon), to see what is available, to go along with this awesome inspiration board challenge!

Some Odd Girl - Christmas Card

Hi guys! I finished my assignments the other day! *wooh!* So, now, I just have a couple of exams, and I'm finished with uni for the year! Woohoo!
So, I sat down and crafted! I pulled out some old stuff, and some new stuff and came up with this -

I started out by grabbing a piece of Webster's Pages Project Life style card, and trimmed it down, to fit my card base (rounding the edges), then I stitched a border around the card, using my trusty sewing machine. I then dug through my Some Odd Girl stamps, and decided to use an all time favourite - Gifty Gwen, I stamped her, and coloured her up, using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I trimmed her out, leaving a thin white border, then mounted her on top of a crochet doily (something I have a massive hoard of), and attached her to the card front.  I stamped and embossed then sentiment (which is one I've never used before!) and then attached some sequins, before doodling all around the card edges...

Kraftin' Kimmie - Mermaid Birthday Card

Morning all! I finally inked up a new stamp that arrived in my mail box last week!
I started off by stamping, and colouring this cool mermaid (from Kraftin' Kimmie), I used my Spectrum Noir Markers (of course), and then glittered her tail with some stickles. I set her aside to dry, overnight, and came back to building a card yesterday morning.... I used a eclectic range of patterned papers, firstly the dictionary paper is from Teresa Collins, the blue triangled paper is from American Crafts (My Girl collection), then, the blue 'wavy' paper is actually a small strip of Echo Park, Scoot paper. It has helicopters and clouds on the top section, but I just trimmed out the portion I wanted... I then stamped my sentiment in versamark, on plain vellum, and heat embossed it, with white powder.
**TIP** I cut the vellum longer than I needed it to be, and scored the where they'd overlap the blue waved papers edges. I then attached tape to the back of the wavy piece and stuck the vellum done. (I don't own vellum adhesive)
I added three small sequins to finish off this card. Here is the close up -

Kraftin' Kimmie - You Rock!

Hi guys! I know, I've not been around much, again....
On the plus side, I do have a card to share!
I started by getting the boyfriend to go through a 6x6 paper pad, by Amy Tangerine, and pick two papers... He picked the bright pink chevron, and the note paper with the doodling in the corner... I went to work... I stamped and coloured up this rocking chicky, from Kraftin' Kimmie, and die-cut her out, using a circle die. Then, built up my card, I used the Hexagon embossing folder (from SU!) and sanded it back a bit, and then added the notebook paper on the left hand side. I added two fish tail banners, one out of the pink chevron paper, the other using washi tape on white card stock. I added a piece of aqua satin ribbon (which matched her outfit, perfectly!) and then stamped and die-cut a sentiment. This sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie too...
I added three little rhinestones, in aqua, and called it done!
I have some exciting news today too! I was featured on the front page of Madeit today!

Annabelle Stamps - Tomorrows Dream; Get Well Card

Hi guys! Sorry for the lengthy delay in blog posts!
I've had my operation, and I'm recovering well. Just a brand new learning experience.
I crafted last night, after returning home (from my parents house). I had a whole bunch of new stuff arrive while I was away, including a parcel from Annabelle Stamps, from my challenge win there recently! I chose to get another one of their addictive stamp sets, and ended up with this one in my cart... So, I inked her up for the Annabelle Stamps most recent challenge - Licorice and White
Here is my card -
I stamped and coloured the image, using the Ice Grey colours from my Spectrum Noir Makrers, and then fussy cut the chicky out. I embossed two pieces of white card stock, using a new addition (to my craft stash) the cloud embossing folder, from Stampin' Up! and mounted them on to black card. All my borders were doodled before embossing. Before adhering the layers together, I added a strip of black satin ribbon between them. I then added a diamond shape and my sentiment, which is from MFT. I finished it all off with three black rhinestones.
Here is the close up
I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches and the Annabelle Stamps Licorice and White challenge for inspiration
My MadeIt store is back open as well, so, pop on in and take a look :)

Stampin' Up! Kindness Matters - Get Well Soon

Hi Again! Look at this, a blog post a day since last Wednesday!
Are you as surprised as me?
I have a card to share today, that features ZERO colouring from my Spectrum Noirs! or, my ever popular doodled borders! Here it is-
I started out with some vanilla cardstock, stamped my butterflies, from Kindness Matters in Versamark, and embossed them in gold. I did a bunch of sponging in Crumbcake, and popped the butterflies on to some crumbcake patterned paper. I added a stamped doily border (also from Kindness Matters) and the sentiment is from Kaszazz. I tied a big, vanilla, seam binding ribbon bow, and added some pearls to finish this card off.
Here is the close up -
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the inspiration pic from Tuesday Trigger. I took the colours from this pic, and made it my own... I am also entering this into the Sketchy Friday sketch
Thanks for dropping by! I'm redrawing my giveaway on my Facebook page, as the winner has yet to get back to me... so, don't forget to pop by, and see if you're the winner!

Hi Again!
I'm currently having a Give-Away on my Facebook page! I am also in the process of updating My MadeIt store, so pop in for a look :)
I had this card set out in my head for a couple of days, I had the shirt stamped and cut out, just hadn't done anything with them.... here is the card -

I used the MFT stamp and Die-namic set - Masculine Graphic Tee, I stamped and embossed the "Rock On"  in silver embossing powder, and then cut it out using the die.
I used patterned paper from My Minds Eye, and some grosgrain ribbon, some fun buttons from my stash. The embossed piece is just white cardstock, run through my big shot with the Chevron embossing folder, from SU!

I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, and the Anything Goes Challenge from Simon Says Stamp
Thanks for dropping by! Don't forget to pop over to my Facebook page, and play with the give away!

Scrapbooking Again for my own Album

Hello Hello! Back again tonight with another scrapbook page, just to change things up :)
I've got a bunch of my own photos that need scrapbooking, but, it's not as easy to scrap my pictures as it is my adorable nephew and niece.... So, I don't get around to doing them very often.... The papers are all from My Minds Eye, and have been quite liberally distressed, and some masking with white embossing powder, and a brick mask, I added some rubons and a little clip, as well as some Liquid Pearls... Here are some close ups -
My journaling pulls out from behind the main image >>
I used inspiration from Stuck?! Sketches (changed up a little bit with photo placements) and also from CSI, where I used Evidence from - sand-like stuff, bricks and liquid medium. Testimony - Document a landmark you've seen

Dancin Mae and Spectrum Noir Markers, Feeling Sketchy Week 8

I received a big old parcel from Michelle at The Stamp Spot and it included my newest toys.... Spectrum Noir Markers!
I bought all the sets that Michelle had... I'd heard so many lovely things from Annmaree about the Spectrum Noirs that when I found out that Michelle was going to stock them, I knew I had to get them! They arrived on Thursday before I went to work, so I had a play.....This was my first attempt at colouring
Ok, so its not overly good, but I was impressed with how easy they were to use! I wasn't discouraged, and Thursday night picked them up again and coloured this one -
I started by picking out the patterned paper from my 'scrap stash' I think it is from My Minds Eye. I coloured up my Dancin Mae with my markers (sorry, I didn't pay attention to the numbers) and cut her out. I popped her onto a nestie label and popped it onto some dimensionals on to the patterned paper, and embossed white card (that was also in my scrap stash, almost made it into the bin...)  I tied a bow using some leftover white satin ribbon and added three little bright pink rhinestones. I layered the whole shebang onto a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock.
This card is my DT post for Feeling Sketchy this week -
We'd love it if you could pop by and play! We've got a new sponsor this month, ScrapEverything!

Feeling Sketchy 6 - Card Sketch - Some Odd Girl

Hi guys! I'm back again with this weeks Feeling Sketchy post, and this is the first week of the new month, which means we've got a new sponsor! MMT Scrapbooking has donated a wonderful prize pack, up to the value of $25! Here is the sketch we're playing with this week -

I actually struggled a bit with this one, but I think it's because my mojo has been non-existant! Here is my card though -
Sorry about the TERRIBLE photo!
This Some Odd Girl is Gifty Gwen and she's been sitting in my box of coloured images for a couple of weeks, waiting to make it onto a card.... I used an Always Artichoke card base, layered up with Vanilla card and patterned papers from My Minds Eye (both retired collections) I then popped Gwen up using a bunch of dimensionals and then, decided it need a sentiment, so stamped Just for You in Versamark and embossed it using some pretty Zing Gold Metallic Embossing Powder.

Feeling Sketchy - Week 5 Scrapbook Sketch!

Hi Again, it's the last week of our first month over at Feeling Sketchy! Which means it's time for a scrapbook sketch.... We decided as we had a lot of feedback from our Facebook Page that it would be a good idea to include a scrap sketch once a month.... so, here it is -
F-Sketchy 5
The stars can be translated into any embellishments... here is my take -
I'd just like to point out, that no, that's not me... It's my older sister her son and her husband :) I used a fairly clean and simple colour scheme to go with the professional photos. I used one sheet of white cardstock, and a half sheet of brown, aqua and white patterned paper (for the life of me, I can't remember which company this is from) Anyone be able to help? I used a Chipboard tree, coated it in ink and then clear embossed over the top of it to make it stand out... I added some MFT Die Cut Clouds cut out of felt, and a tag which has my journalling and a little bit of twine tied in a bow. The title is from the Stampin' Up! Timeless Type Sizzlet and has been cut out of Chocolate Chip card and stuck down. I had a little chipboard birdy, painted him white and added him and a button to the tree to finish off this layout.
