From the Heart - Masculine Birthday Cards

Hello, Hello
I have a couple of cards to share today, both featuring the same stamp, but different layouts/cards
Ok, so we'll start with this one. The stamp is from From the Heart digital stamps, and was coloured with my copics/spectrum noir markers. I used papers from My Minds Eye, and Doodle Bug and layered them all up. The sentiment for this one is My Favourite Things.
Next up
This one uses exactly the same stamps, but I used papers from Echo Park, and layered them up. The sentiment is from another My Favourite Things stamp set.

The Stamp Spot Blog Hop!

Welcome to the first Stamp Spot Blog Hop!
This weekend, we'd love to share with you some inspiration for this months craft challenge (kids) , and also a chance to win some awesome prizes!  At each stop along the way, read the post carefully, as each blog will have a fun question for you to answer... (ie. What are your families traditions at Easter?) Answer the question to go in the draw for the prize from each blog!
If you've come from Annmaree's Blog, you're on the right track, if not, head to The Stamp Spot blog, and start from the beginning!
So here is my project! I wanted to make something that was interactive, for primary school kids... So, I made up this little card and pencil kit -

I started out, stamping Kraftin' Kimmie stamp - Goldilocks, in black ink, then doodled around the border (of course). The patterned paper in the background is from My Minds Eye, My Girl 6x6 patterned paper pad. I then added a mft die-namic, and popped some alphabet stickers from Sassfras and the "You" is from Alley Way Stamps. The tag is covered in the left over patterned paper, and some washi tapes and threaded with some awesome Twine and a little teddy coloured with my Spectrum Noirs. The little pencils have been wrapped in twine, and washi tape too!
Here is a close up -
Here is the list of participants -
Jess D (you are here!)
Here is the question you need to answer here (I have comment approval on, so it might be a few minutes before your comment shows up)
When you were a child, did you do the Easter Egg hunt? If you have your own kids, do you hide the Easter Eggs?

Next on the list is the lovely Sandra  at Sandra's Stamping Spot!
Good luck!

More Scrapbooking - Project Life Kits

I have some exciting news, I've become sponsored by Alacraft, a great little store, based in Australia that has a wide range of craft supplies, from crochet/knitting to quilting and scrapbooking! The exciting part is.... All my readers (yup, you!) are entitled to a 20% discount on all orders! Just pop the code JESS20 in during the checkout process to claim your discount... There is also free shipping, Australia wide, for orders over $100! So, check it!
I've had a lot of fun over the last few days, scrapbooking... It's been awesome to get back into it... I'd left it behind last month, and my mojo for it had disappeared... But, then I made the page yesterday, and had to keep going! So, onto my layout for today!

I started out, picking this photo out of my picture albums, and selecting the papers I wanted to use... I used the Project Life papers from Echo Park, drew my customary borders around them, then grabbed my embellishments!
Here you can see lots of little flowers, a label (simple stories), and a doily... I also popped some twine, rolled up into a circle below my flower. The top section, near the title, has a Typo heart and lots of little bits of bling! The heart next to the label is a little wooden veneer, coloured in with my Spectrum Noir Markers.
In this picture, you can see more of the Simple Stories stickers, a FindingNana button and more flowers and twine!
I am loving the Project Life pieces for my scrapbooking, makes it A LOT easier to co-ordinate everything!
I am linking this up to the White With 1 Challenge - Pink and hearts
Don't forget, to drop by my Facebook Page to keep up to date with the goings on :)

Some Odd Girl - Warm Wishes Tia

I have a Christmas Card to share today, using the Some Odd Girl stamp set - Warm Wishes Tia. Here's my card -
I started off by stamping Tia on X-PressIt Blender card and coloured her up using my Spectrum Noir Markers. Once I was happy with how she was coloured, I added some white highlights using a white gel pen, and fussy cut her out. I layered her up onto a bunch of patterned papers from My Minds Eye, and doodled around the edges of all the papers using a fine tip black pen. I layered everything up, stamped a sentiment, then added a couple of buttons and some Charcoal Twine
I received my birthday present to myself in the mail yesterday...  Now, I have the full set of Spectrum Noir Markers, and let me tell you... It makes a WORLD of difference... I love them, and can see them getting oh so much use! I think I might actually learn to love purple... hehe... Anyway, ere is a close up of little Tia -
Thanks for popping by! Don't forget, our challenge this month is Tags, just use something from the shop in your creation! I also used inspiration from Mojo Monday, and their sketch. I was thrown a little as to what to do about the circle, so just made it work for me :)

The Greeting Farm - Tank For a monochromatic Boys Birthday

Hi guys! I hope you all had a fabulous Mothers day! I spent the weekend at my mum's house, and had stamp club on Sunday :) Apart from that, there wasn't a lot of crafting done, so when I got home, it was time to get inky! Here is my effort this afternoon -
I started by colouring Tank (by The Greeting Farm) using my Basic Grey Marker and blender pen, with some very subtle highlighting in Basic Black, and fussy cut him out... I picked out this glossy patterned paper from Kaisercraft On the Move patterned paper stack, and cut it to be a 1/4 of an inch smaller than my card base. I then flipped it over and drew a curve using a pencil, and followed the curve using my sharp scissors. I attached it to the card base, and drew a border using my Black Stampin' Write Marker and the sentiment from Grunge Rock (Stampin' Up!) I layered some black bakers twine over the patterned paper as well as some buttons and then popped Tank up on dimensionals....
I used inspiration from iSpySketches and also from the Splendid Stamping monochrome challenge.

Thanks for dropping around :)

My Favourite Things Mother's Day Card

Hi Lovelies! Happy Mother's Day to everyone who follows my blog (even if you're a mum to a fur baby!)
I started out with a Gray card base and some patterned paper from the store. I layered them up and then coloured and paper pieced the My Favourite Things (Pure Innocence)  Being Cute is What I do stamp using this paper pad for her shirt. I then used the back of  one of these tags  to stamp my sentiment stamp on, as well as a flourish stamp that has been in my stash forever... I sponged all around it with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Spun Sugar and threaded some Blossom twine through the hole and tied a bow. I added some Liquid Pearls in White Opal on the bottom of the tag. I then used the Rolled Roses die from MFT Die-namics (I love these dies!)  and popped more Liquid Pearls in the centre. I finished off this card by going around the edge with my white gel pen.
This card meets the this months challenge with Pink, Flowers and Bling!
Don't forget to pop over and join in the fun

Feeling Sketchy - Week 5 Scrapbook Sketch!

Hi Again, it's the last week of our first month over at Feeling Sketchy! Which means it's time for a scrapbook sketch.... We decided as we had a lot of feedback from our Facebook Page that it would be a good idea to include a scrap sketch once a month.... so, here it is -
F-Sketchy 5
The stars can be translated into any embellishments... here is my take -
I'd just like to point out, that no, that's not me... It's my older sister her son and her husband :) I used a fairly clean and simple colour scheme to go with the professional photos. I used one sheet of white cardstock, and a half sheet of brown, aqua and white patterned paper (for the life of me, I can't remember which company this is from) Anyone be able to help? I used a Chipboard tree, coated it in ink and then clear embossed over the top of it to make it stand out... I added some MFT Die Cut Clouds cut out of felt, and a tag which has my journalling and a little bit of twine tied in a bow. The title is from the Stampin' Up! Timeless Type Sizzlet and has been cut out of Chocolate Chip card and stuck down. I had a little chipboard birdy, painted him white and added him and a button to the tree to finish off this layout.

Birthday Anya and I create a bright Birthday Card

Hi there! I have another fun, bright card to share with you tonight! It's funny, when I'm not in the best of moods, I seem to relax and create cards that I'm happier with than if I am feeling good, and happy.... hmmm weird... Here's my card -
Today, while I was down the shops, I bought the Simply Cards (Issue 96) magazine, which came with some bright, fun patterned papers. I layered some onto a white card base, and wrapped some beautiful double banded Grosgrain ribbon from The Ribbon Carousel and tied a bow , I then tied a bow in some red twine, from The Twinery (via the Stamp Spot) and stamped my sentiment from Up, Up & Away (SU!) The main image panel is a Spellbinders Die sponged all over with blue ink and a scallop circle, to create clouds, this little girl is Birthday Anya, and she was coloured using my Stampin' Write Markers and Blender Pen (duh!) I have added two punched strips of blue patterned paper and some Stickles Glitter into the scallops punched out... I have done a bunch of doodling right around the edges of the patterned paper. (not very neatly... hehe)
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the TGF Farm Fresh Friday Spy Day, and also their Monday Funday Anything Goes Challenge, and last but not least is another entry into the Ribbon Carousel Twine Challenge.

Only a few more days to get your name into the draw for my Blog Candy! And, Don't forget to head over to the almost here new sketch challenge blog - Feeling Sketchy!

C.C. Designs paired with Kaisercraft Hummingbird Collection creates a Summery For You card

Hi Hi! I had the house to myself again tonnight, so, I got to do my favourite thing in peace... Craft! I also went to Spotlight today, and came back with the Kaisercraft Hummingbird 6.5"x6.5" paper pad, which I had to use straight away! So, here is one of my efforts:
This is a Poppy Parade card base, layered with some Hummingbird paper (the red pieces are foiled, and oh so shiny!) I coloured this C.C. Designs Honey - Summer using my Stampin' Write Markers and then fussy cut her out and popped her on a distress inked circle. I placed the diecut circle on a pretty white doily and wrapped some red and white bakers twine around with a tag that says 4 you.

C.C. Designs Hansel and I create a Just for You card

Hi There! I wanted to share my first post for The Stamp Spot, as on of the fabulous Design Team.
Ok, on to my card
This is Hansel from C.C. Designs. I think he is the most adorable little fellah ever! I coloured him with a pack of Derwent pencils and some Mineral Turpentine (you can use Baby Oil, or Gamsol) to blend the colours. I stamped him a second time onto a Spellbinders Nesting Circle and sponged the edges with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass. The background is Lucky Limeade cardstock, layered with bunting paper from My Minds Eye, some punched Daffodil Delight card and some embossed Sahara Sand card. On top of the yellow is a piece of Brown Satin Ribbon. The second little circle has the same treatment as the larger one, and has been attached to the card using a piece of Honeydew Twine from the Twinery. Below the sentiment is a tiny little star brad that has been in my stash forever, and finally has a home :)

I am also entering this into the Deconstructing Jen Sketch challenge
Don't forget to head over to the challenge and enter for your chance to win some lovely goodies!

The Greeting Farm New Parents and Stampin' Up! Sincere Salutations and I create a Birthday Card

Hi guys! I'm back again today to show you a card that I made up :)
I used a Basic Gray card base and layered it with Calypso Coral and some patterned paper from KaiserCraft
and some twine with a random button from my stash. The Lil guy is the dad from The Greeting Farm's New Parents stamp set, and has been coloured using my Stampin' Write Markers on watercolour paper. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Sincere Salutations and has been stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed using white embossing powder. The Brads are from Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration freebies :)
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Colour Q challenge, which included the retired colour Dusty Durango, which is a colour I don't have so, I tried matching it with the closest that is a current colour.... Next up is the Cardabilities Sketch, which I have put a bit of a spin on.
Thanks for popping by!

Stampin' Up! Tiny Tags and Extreme Elements make a teen birthday card

Hi guys... my mojo is a little bit on the fritz today... which is disappointing, as I have the whole day to craft! So, I sat and water coloured for a while, and then built the card using a layout I've used numerous times, so there was no thinking involved...
This little alternative guy I bought from The Greeting Farm a while ago, but just hadn't gotten around to colouring him... I used my Stampin' Write Markers and a Blender Pen. I cut him out (in three pieces cause I messed up colouring his clothing, and had to redo them) and then pieced him back together on a piece of Whisper White, which I'd sponged with Tempting Turquoise. The 'splattered' panel is Tempting Turquoise, and has been stamped using Extreme Elements and sponged around the edges. I then wrapped some bakers twine and added a couple of Tiny Tags. I added 3 red rhinestones, and called it done....
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Ribbon Carousel Anything Goes challenge, and also the Just Add Ink Just add Tags/Bookmarks Challenge.
Don't forget to add your name to my linky list and go in the draw for blog candy here
Happy Stamping!
