Some Odd Girl - Hello

Hello again!

I’ve been back in the craft room, over a couple of sittings, to create this bright and fun card to share.

So to start this card, I coloured this stamp from Some Odd Girl with my copic markers (list below) and set her aside until I had time to make the card.

I had time this evening, after putting Amy (the baby girl) to bed. I used a white card base, layered with black and then white, before popping on some bright patterned papers, these are all from my box of offcuts!!

I then used a sticker from Jillibean Soup layered with more black cardstock, and fussy cut out. I have of course popped the main image up using dimensional adhesive and done my signature doodling all around the edges of each layer.

Here’s a close up for you

Copics used

Some Odd Girl - Hipster Mae!

Hi guys! Sorry for the quietness on the old blog, I've been spending a lot of time, out and about, and haven't had much time to create, except for custom orders! I have a few cards going up in store today (etsy and madeit) so keep an eye on the stores! Anyway, on to my card
This is Hipster Mae, I had a craft day with a friend recently, where I stamped and coloured a bunch of images... this was one of them. I think she needs to be added to my stash! Anyway, I've used my Spectrum Noir markers, and patterned papers from Echo Park. The sentiment is a mix of Some Odd Girl and Simon Says Stamp.

The Greeting Farm - Teen Birthday Card

Hey there! I've had another couple of busy work days, so it's been nice to be able to craft. The card I have to share today, is one I created Sunday night, instead of sleeping, for my 4am start at work...
This was one of those cards, that in my head was SO different to what came out onto the card base! I had originally started colouring a completely different image, then stumbled across this one in my stash... (it's pretty bad, when you forget stamps, that you own!)
Anyway, I coloured her up, using my Spectrum Noir Markers. The patterned paper is from Teresa Collins, and I've paired it with some purple and white card stocks, as well as some card, from packaging from a pack of Amy Tan Stickers. Originally, this was going to play a much bigger role in the card, but I just couldn't make it work, it looked too busy, so it came in as a sentiment banner.
I used a mix of sentiments, the Happy Birthday is from My Favourite Things, the You Rock from Technique Tuesday. I die cut a star, from Real Red card stock, using MFT Die-namics and added some rhinestones and buttons to finish off the card.

Kraftin' Kimmie - Gamer Girl Card

Hiya! I have a quick card to share today! One that reminds me of my little sister....
I started by stamping, paper piecing and colouring up my Kraftin' Kimmie Gamer Girl, using patterned papers from Echo Park, and my Spectrum Noir Markers. I then layered more patterned papers from the same range, onto black cardstock, and doodled around the edges. I die-cut the main image, and trimmed out a black border for it. I added a bling flourish and painted a wood flourish with white paint, let it dry and then stamped my sentiment (from MFT) and popped some alphabet stickers on to finish it off.

Saturated Canary - Teen / Tween Birthday Card

Hi guys! I've got a teen or tween girl card to share today!
Here it is -
I started by stamping this rubber stamp, by Saturated Canary, and colouring her up using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I decided to colour her hair in purple, as she looks like a "free spirit" I then had to pick out my papers, I must admit, I don't have a big collection of purple papers... I don't particularly like using the colour purple, but really couldn't resist! I received some lovely papers from Gayatri from Handmade by G3 a little while ago, they are PTI, and had this fun purple spotted, and numbered piece in there, which went awesomely! I also used some yellow patterned paper from Sn@p and layered it all on white and Elegant Eggplant card stock. I then stamped a sentiment (maybe a Hero Arts one, I'm not sure... SORRY!) and a MFT speech bubble which I trimmed out and added some pearls, that I'd coloured with an alcohol marker to match the papers.
Here is the close up - I did some doodling on this chicky, with a white gel pen...

The Greeting Farm - Creeper Crew Lula and I create a Teen Birthday Card

Wooh! I got into the craft area today, and managed to craft! Are you all pleased to see me back? :P I got some mojo together to create this card, and just between you and me, I love it!
I really like this Greeting Farm Creeper Crew Lula, but rarely pull her out to use... I don't know why, because I actually really love her! I stamped her on white cardstock and with my Basic Gray Stampin' Write Marker scribbled on a piece of Acetate and picked up colour using my trusty blender pen and spread the colour that way. It is a great way to get 'washed out' colours, as opposed to my usually more vibrant colouring which is done on Canson Watercolour paper. I used the same method for her headband which is coloured in More Mustard. I used a black card base, layered up with Polka Dot patterned paper from Echo Park *swoon* and cut out a piece of white card using my newest toy that arrived yesterday, the Stampin' Up! Edgelit dies. I cut, and embossed the white piece, and trimmed it down to size before stamping my sentiment (which is a no name one) in More Mustard ink, I layered it all together with the last of this pretty ribbon and tied a big old bow on it.
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the iSpy Sketches sketch, which I loved as soon as I spotted it! Next up is The Play Date Cafe black, white and a splash of Mustard Yellow, and finally the Farm Fresh Friday, Black, White and 1 other challenge.

Stampin' Up! Tiny Tags and Extreme Elements make a teen birthday card

Hi guys... my mojo is a little bit on the fritz today... which is disappointing, as I have the whole day to craft! So, I sat and water coloured for a while, and then built the card using a layout I've used numerous times, so there was no thinking involved...
This little alternative guy I bought from The Greeting Farm a while ago, but just hadn't gotten around to colouring him... I used my Stampin' Write Markers and a Blender Pen. I cut him out (in three pieces cause I messed up colouring his clothing, and had to redo them) and then pieced him back together on a piece of Whisper White, which I'd sponged with Tempting Turquoise. The 'splattered' panel is Tempting Turquoise, and has been stamped using Extreme Elements and sponged around the edges. I then wrapped some bakers twine and added a couple of Tiny Tags. I added 3 red rhinestones, and called it done....
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Ribbon Carousel Anything Goes challenge, and also the Just Add Ink Just add Tags/Bookmarks Challenge.
Don't forget to add your name to my linky list and go in the draw for blog candy here
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Grunge Rock, and Extreme Elements make a teenage birthday card

Today has been an epically long day... I had to go to work this morning, and open the shop, which meant being there by 4am (yup, 4am exists as a time....), so after getting home and napping, I had most of the day free... So, I made a couple of cards to share with you. Here's the first :)
Ok, so this is a Basic Grey card base, which I have layered with Real Red (which was run through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot embossing folder) I then stamped two scrap pieces of Basic Grey using the diamonds from Grunge Rock, and glued them in place. I then turned my attention to my main image panel. I have used stamps from Extreme Elements and Grunge Rock, in Real Red, Lucky Limeade, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Basic Grey. The Guitar has been popped on dimensionals. I layered this panel on another piece of Basic Grey and then glued it to my embossed piece. I wrapped a piece of Real Red ribbon around the card and popped on a retired Basic Grey Corduroy button to finish it off.
I am entering this into the Stamping 411 sketch challenge which closes soon, so head over and have a go...
Thanks for dropping by!
Happy Stamping! :)

Stampin' Up! Bliss and I create a Young Adult Birthday card

Hi guys, I wasn't going to post this until tomorrow, but it was a little earlier than I thought, so I will post it before heading to bed...I wanted to create a card that would be perfect for a young lady turning 18 or 21, and this is what I came up with... I must be in a monochromatic phase at the moment, as here is another one....
The purple piece started life out as a piece of Perfect Plum, but with a whole bunch of sponging of Elegant Eggplant, I don't think it looks Plum any more... I have sponged the background piece, then with my white shimmer paint mixed with a little bit of rubbing alcohol, I have created a shimmer spray, I heat set that then stamped the splatter from French Foliage on it in Elegant Eggplant. I then stamped the flourish from Sale-a-bration set Bliss in Basic Grey and highlighted some of the swirls using a silver gel pen. I have stamped and embossed this butterfly, which is from Grant Archival in silver and popped him using dimensionals. The sentiment is from Basic Phrases and is on a piece of Perfect Plum that has had the edges sponged as well. This was all mounted on to a piece of Basic Grey and three little rhinestones finish this off...
I based this card loosely on the Just Add Ink Sketch, below. This card turned out very very different to how I first imagined it... But I like it nonetheless.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Beware Pirates! Makes trendy teen birthday cards!

Now, this is a set, I never thought I'd play with... but after Kim brought it to our craft day last week, I had to have a go! Kim also challenged me with a few of my least used colours... Concord Crush, Peach Parfait and one of my favourite neutrals right now... Early Espresso.
I stamped the image in Concord Crush, and then with my glue pen and some glitter, highlighted some of the swirls... Not sure if this is actually visible in this picture... (it is in full version...) Then with my Peach Parfait, I stamped the ARRRR! Sentiment with tone on tone, to give it a dark watermark look. I used the scallop trim border punch, and Early Espresso, which was then layered in Concord Crush and the happy birthday  from Look Who's Turning in Versamark and silver embossed it. The panels were then layered on Early Espresso card.
Out of all the cards (13) that I made that day, this is my house mate Mark's favourite, he loves this stamp set, and thinks I should get it... I'm some what agreeing with him....
Anyway, hopefully Kim will upload her version of this colour combo for you. Head on over, and check out her beautiful cards!
Happy Stamping!
