Stampin' Up! Bliss and Pool Party for an elegant Birthday Card

I have been creating, but just not blogging! I have a backlog of cards to show you, which never happens! I like to blog on the same day I create in general, so to have 4 cards waiting to be posted is a little odd for me.... Here is one I made yesterday.

Two photos today, as I didn't that you can't see the sentiment in the first one, and don't like the glare in the second *sigh*
I have used a white card base, layered it with some speciality paper from KaiserCraft, wrapped some Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon (swoon) on top. I cut out a Pool Party scallop circle using the Big Shot, and a circle in Whisper White. I stamped the circle with the filigree from Bliss in Pool Party and the sentiment in Versamark. I sprinkled a mix of silver embossing powder and glitter to create some bling and heat set it. Layered the circles and popped it on the card front. The final step for this card was rounding the corners :)
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger, I was inspired by the silver, white and the tiny touches of blue, mine is a little brighter, but I think it fits still... The second challenge is the Inspirational Card Sketches which was a super sketch for my style this week :) I am also entering their design team call (wish me luck!)
I've got more to share, but it will have to wait until after work tomorrow,
Sorry!
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Bliss and I create a Young Adult Birthday card

Hi guys, I wasn't going to post this until tomorrow, but it was a little earlier than I thought, so I will post it before heading to bed...I wanted to create a card that would be perfect for a young lady turning 18 or 21, and this is what I came up with... I must be in a monochromatic phase at the moment, as here is another one....
The purple piece started life out as a piece of Perfect Plum, but with a whole bunch of sponging of Elegant Eggplant, I don't think it looks Plum any more... I have sponged the background piece, then with my white shimmer paint mixed with a little bit of rubbing alcohol, I have created a shimmer spray, I heat set that then stamped the splatter from French Foliage on it in Elegant Eggplant. I then stamped the flourish from Sale-a-bration set Bliss in Basic Grey and highlighted some of the swirls using a silver gel pen. I have stamped and embossed this butterfly, which is from Grant Archival in silver and popped him using dimensionals. The sentiment is from Basic Phrases and is on a piece of Perfect Plum that has had the edges sponged as well. This was all mounted on to a piece of Basic Grey and three little rhinestones finish this off...
I based this card loosely on the Just Add Ink Sketch, below. This card turned out very very different to how I first imagined it... But I like it nonetheless.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Bliss and I create lovely a Wedding Card

Since our last craft day last week, Sue, Kim and I decided to set some challenges for ourselves. We were curious to see how different our cards would turn out, using exactly the same products, the same layering, everything, except instead of sitting opposite each other, and peeking on what the other is doing, creating 'blind.' We decided to use the Sale-a-bration stamp sets, because we knew we all had them....
Our first card was using the Bliss Stamp set,
The colours that Kim picked out were Early Espresso, Elegant Eggplant, So Saffron and Very Vanilla. Such regal/elegant colours. I used the Bliss set, and the Beautiful Wings Embossolit and some very cool Early Espresso grosgrain ribbon. I also used the Decorative Label Punch, which is new in the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue. Head on over to Kim's blog to check out her version of this card here and hopefully Sue will be able to upload hers soon!
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Ornate Blossom is very versatile, Christmas Card and Thank you Card

Ok, so this is another couple of cards from our craft day last week. This time, the colour combo was one I struggled a little bit with.... So Saffron, Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry, Wild Wasabi and Early Espresso.
So, I clear embossed the damask pattern from Bliss on the Early Espresso cardstock, then coloured the ornate blossom with my stampin' write markers, then stamped it on to some very vanilla. I wanted to add some depth to the colours, so went over selected parts with my markers for definition. The sentiment is from Short and Sweet (one of my all time favourite sentiment sets) and is cut out using the Modern Label Punch. The ribbon is retired SU, Wild Wasabi.
Ok, after making these cards, Kim and I sat looking at the Ornate Blossom stamp, thinking, there has to be more that we can do with this.... Kim was looking at the stamp upside down, and brilliantly noticed it looks like a pine cone.... So, we moved on to doing a Christmas card each. This one was not colour combo'd at all, just use the stamp...
I chose to use Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White. I embossed half the White with the Polka Dots Embossing Folder, and left the other half un-embossed. The image was stamped using Cherry Cobbler, and then I glued down some loose silver glitter. The ribbon is non-su, but is a perfect match for Cherry Cobbler. The sentiment is from Snow Swirled, and I think fits perfectly.
Check out what Kim did with the colour combinations, and this stamp set! Next time you have a stamp that doesn't seem to work, look at it from another angle, you may find something surprising...
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Circle Scissors, Circle Easel Card

Back again with another card. This one was a first time for me... I've never made an easel card... ever... Until tonight. It took me a whole lot longer than I'd like to admit....
This was extremely difficult for me... Even though, I had a sketch and a recipe to go off of... I couldn't get it working right for me... I ended up not hating this (which believe me, was an improvement...) I used my circle scissors, from Stampin' Up!, cut all my circles out using that.... then tried to figure out what I wanted on the main panel.... should have been easy considering I was using the Mojo Monday sketch, and the Stamping Vacation Pick 3 challenge (which I picked tearing, buttons and white gel pen.)
I think what I found most difficult about this was, I didn't go into my craft room knowing what I wanted to use or even the colour combination, which makes me sit and stamp a bunch of different things until I find something that falls into place. I will definitely have to try this again, when I have a solid idea of what I want in my head!
Happy Stamping!

Sale-a-bration Stamp Set Punch Bunch, For You Card

Hi all,
Welcome back.... I have another card to show you, which is another Clean and Simple Card....
I was surprised after seeing the challenge colours from Just Add Ink this week, that I came up with two cards that I liked... It was a daunting colour challenge, using River Rock, Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler.
I used the Sale-a-bration Stamp Set Punch Bunch for this card, I coloured the image with my Stampin' Write Markers (directly onto the stamp) then stamped it on some Whisper White before punching it with my circle punch and layering it on the scallop circle. In the centres on the poppies, I did coloured in some yellow, and then got a fine tipped black pen, and drew in some 'stamen' I also added some shadowing using the small end of my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker.
If you would like to get the Punch Bunch Stamp set for FREE, email me or give me a call on 0405 173 237 to find out how today!
Until next time, Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue and Bliss are so elegant together!

This is another card from my craft day with Kim. This one is inspiration from Kim, who picked out the colours, and the use of the Bliss flourish (which is elegant by itself!), I decided to pair it with the flowers from Vintage Vogue to give it some more interest...
I've tried for shabby chic with the distressing on this card. It doesn't seem to matter what stamp sets I use, as soon as I see Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze and Choc Chip together, I think elegance...
The second card I want to show you, again uses that pretty flourish from Sale-a-bration stamp set Bliss....
This is using Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz, and was made for the Mojo Monday Sketch. I love the idea of placing that butterfly on any flourish, as they work so perfectly together!

Stampin' Up Scallop Punch Art Roses - Tutorial

I have been in the craft room again this afternoon... Creating something that isn't so clean and simple!
Are you surprised?
I created this for the CR84FN Colour Challenge, which was to use Pale Pink, Medium Violet and Gray.
I have also put together a tutorial for you, on how to make the very cute little roses....These are easy to make, but are a little fiddly...
  1. Supplies- Scrap Card stock 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Scissors, pencil, strong tape or glue, and a bone folder.
  2. Punch out a scallop circle, drag it across the bone folder a few times to make it easier to roll.
  3. Draw a swirl on the scallop circle.
  4. Cut on the line of your swirl.
  5. Starting in the middle, start rolling the cut piece in on itself.
  6. Once you have gotten to the end, let it spring open a little. You can leave it fairly tight, or loose, which ever look you prefer
  7. Put a small amount of tape or glue on the loose tail, hold in place.
  8. I have pushed the outer petals out a little to give a little more definition, then you're done!
I hope this tutorial has helped, and was easy to follow, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to post a comment, or email me
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up Sale-a-bration Stamp set Bliss

Recently, I have started doing more and more clean and simple cards, so the discovery of the Less is More challenge has been a god-send! I love clean and simple stamping, and with the Mothers Day cards for the Troops drive, the simpler the better, as I can set up a production line to create the maximum amount of cards in the smallest amount of time as possible...
I created another two this evening using the Less is More latest challenge, which is a theme challenge - SPRING. Spring to me is new flowers, and Mothers Day. These cards use the Sale-a-bration stamp set Bliss, which has to be my favourite Sale-a-bration set. I love the butterfly and damask in the set, but this is the first time I've used this little flower. It reminds me of a cherry blossom, especially the lighter of the two....
I will be participating in this challenge again, I'm sure.. So, head over, and have a look at the other entries (there are some amazing artists participating in these challenges!)
Happy Stamping Guys!

Stampin' Up! Bliss Gift Box

I sat and played in my craft room last night, catching up on some inkiness... I think I'm in a bit of a mojo slump at the moment... even though I've got bunches of wonderful things I want to use, nothing is happening that I love... *sigh*..... I did make this last night though, and while it is okay, it just doesn't jump out at me...

This little box would fit a number of cards and envelopes for a friend or relative who is short on time... (which is always an awesome gift!) or fill it with chocolate, or a small gift, and give it that way....
I used the Just Add Ink Sketch for this, but turned it on its side. I also used a template from Stamping 411 for this project. I'm going to have another play with this idea today, and see what I come up with....
Hopefully my mojo will return, until then... Happy Stamping!

Happy Valentines Day!

Hi all! Happy Valentines Day!
Here is a rose for you all! :D
I made it using this tutorial that I found online... it looks a lot more in depth than it actually is! It's just another reason to get your hands on the Stampin' Up! Owl punch!
Anyway, I had a good day yesterday with papercrafting. My house mate and I couldn't decide what we wanted to do (we usually do something every Sunday) So, we stayed at home, and I spent a lot of time in my craft room. I made the rose, I made this card, and then after dinner, I asked Mark to pick four colours for me.... he picked Concord Crush, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Basic Grey... (talk about an eye for colour!) I paired 'his' colours with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge
And, here is my card!

I love this colour combination.... and wasn't originally going to use "Bliss" but, it kept calling to me.... I love it!
Anyway, have an awesome Valentines Day with your special someone..... Or, if you're single like me, treat yourself to something nice, make you feel good about you today!
Happy Stamping!

I'm not dead....

Hi Guys... I know it's been a while since I posted.... I did make a few cards the other night but then when I went to take a picture of them and find out my cameras batteries had died! I didn't worry too much about it... I will upload those pictures in the next few days! I've been incredibly mojoless lately, due to falling ill with the horrid summer flu! I have had the worst sore throat and headaches, so I've been spending a lot of time asleep on the mattress under the air conditioner, and being looked after by the worlds best house mate and most awesome best friend in the world (just saying....)
I am feeling much better today, so after coming home from work, I decided to have a craft play!

This is for the Mojo Monday Card sketch challenge, which I try to participate in weekly.... This was one that threw me a little bit... But in the end I decided on using my completely neglected Totally Tool set...
.
This second card is a just because card... just because I was sitting at my desk, and the supplies were there.... Can you tell how much I adore the Sale-a-bration Bliss set yet? Want to get this stamp set for free???? Thank check out this post to find out how :-)

Exploding Purse Gift Bag

Hi all!
I found a wonderful tutorial online tonight, and thought I'd use it to make something! I'm thinking of filling it with some small sized bottles of moisturiser, or something, and sending it to some one special!

I used the colours from the Colour Q Challenge,  but once again, there was a retired colour that I don't have, so I substituted with Regal Rose, I don't think it looks right... but it was the closest I had....
Anyway, thanks for looking! I hope there aren't many more pink colour challenges! Kids colours would be awesome!

Happy Mail and JAI

Hi All, I know I haven't been around much, blame it on the heat and the darn summer flu that has hit me.... We have had temperatures of up to 43 Celsius, (109.4F) So, I've been keeping out of the craft room, and staying in the lounge with the air con....
I got some happy mail yesterday, in the form of a Stampin' Up! Order, which was much anticipated!
Very excited by the Sale-a-bration stamp sets and the two 'kids' stamp sets I got as well... It has been a while since I've bought new stamps, so it was nice to have something new to play with....
This card fulfils the colour requirements of Just Add Ink's colour challenge this week.
It's hard to tell in the photo, but the sentiment and swirl are done in Soft Suede, and the border punch at the bottom is Early Espresso (which seems to be a crazy popular colour!)
This stamp set is one of the Free Sale-a-bration stamp sets, click here to find out how you can get this or one of the other 3 adorable stamp sets, for FREE
Stay tuned for a scrapbook layout!
