I’m back!! My favorite things- unicorn dreams

Hi guys!

I know it’s been almost 4 years since I blogged. I haven’t been creating a whole lot while I’ve been gone, but I have done some pretty cool stuff!

In April 2016, right after I stopped blogging, I got married!!

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind since then! I did some markers locally with my cards, I’ve still got my Etsy store and my Facebook page (Jessidee Handmade if you want to find it) and I’ve changed jobs a couple of times.
One of the BIGGEST changes happened in October 2018, when my husband and I became parents to a beautiful baby girl. You’ll just have to believe me she’s a stunner because we have made a decision not to share her face on social media or online. I do have a few cute pictures I CAN share with you though!!

I’ll try to upload one every now and then, so you’re not overwhelmed with baby spam! Her name is Amelia (Amy for short) and she is a sassy little queen who makes everyone around her happy.

Ok, now on to the card I have to share with you, now I’ve got you all caught up!

I have a friends little one turning 3 next month, and thought now I’ve got a tidy craft area again, it’s time to create.

This card is made using My Favorite Things - Unicorn Dream stamps, copics and patterned paper from Echo Park. I’ve used sequins, some cloud stickers and a die cut glitter 3 as embellishments.

I have used inspiration from MFT Stamps Wednesday Sketch Challenge
MFT Stamps Wednesday Sketch Challenge
And colour/moodboard inspiration from Create A Smile Blog

I’m so glad to be back in the craft room, and hope to get my blogging back up to date a little more! I hope to see you all soon!

MFT Unicorn Birthday Card

Hi Hi! I have another card to share today, this one, I have had in my mind for a couple of days, I was just awaiting the stamp set arriving!
I started by picking my papers, these are from Pink Paislee, I the selected my unicorn, and stamped and coloured him, and the rainbow, using my Spectrum Noir Markers and Copics. I die cut the circle, and cloud shapes and then built my card. The sentiment is from the same set as the unicorn. I've added a smattering of sequins to finish off the card

For this card, I used the digital stamp Some Odd Girl - Lady Bug Tia (currently on sale for $1), I've coloured her with Copics and Spectrum Noir Markers, and added stickles to her wings. I used patterned papers from My Minds Eye and Echo Park, the sentiment is from My Minds Eye, I've also added some Stampin' Up! Ribbon as well as some bling and paper flowers (D-Lish Scraps)

Some Odd Girl - Mermaid Queen

Hi guys! I'm back again, to share a card I made last night. It is a card, that I currently love, more than most, and I can't see myself parting with it, any time soon! I made it, to showcase on Some Odd Girl's Facebook Group - Paper Piecing Challenge
Here it is -
To start this card, I selected the Mermaid Queen Digital Stamp, from Some Odd Girl, printed her on my copic card stock, and on some copy paper. On the copy paper, once she was printed, I attached some patterned paper, and some vellum, and reprinted her. While that was printing, I started colouring the Mermaid's body, using my copic markers. I let the ink dry a short time on the vellum part of her tail, and while that was drying, coloured her tail in shades of green and blue, to give it a shimmer look on the patterned paper. I colour over a lot of my paper pieced sections, to give more dimension, to make the piece look less "flat". I then fussy cut the tail, and fins and attached them to my coloured mermaid. I did some stippling to give the appearance of sand, and used some stickles on her main tail fin, to give some sparkle!
The papers on this card are a mix of no-name papers and Lawn Fawn, I think her tail is from My Minds Eye (it was a scrap in my scrap draw). I added a sentiment, from another Some Odd Girl stamp set (which appears to be retired now). I added some more sparkle using a trio of silver sequins, and some glitter paper.

MFT Stamps - Pure Innocence - Feline Better

Hi Guys!
I've got a clean and simple card to share today.
For this card, I used the MFT stamp, Pure Innocence Feline Better stamp, coloured with my copic markers, and paper pieced using some no name brand paper from a local discount store. I layered this little chicka on a die cut tag (from the silhouette), and popped on a die cut silver, glitter border piece, as well as a smattering of silver sequins.

The Greeting Farm - Teen Birthday Card

Hi guys! I was up WAY too early the other morning, so had plenty of time to create! This card is heading into my stores (links on sidebar) this evening. Anyway, onto the card!
I started by stamping, and colouring the Creeper Crew stamp, using my Spectrum Noir markers, then die cutting her out. I grabbed some paper from My Minds Eye and doodled around the edges. the bow is made from satin ribbon, and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. I used MFT die-namic to create the glitter stars.

I've been a bad blogger... Some Odd Girl Cards

I've been a terrible blogger lately! I've not crafted much recently, as my week of prac ended and I went to visit my parents, and head to Sydney with my big sis, to see The Lion King and check out Madame Tussauds
This is us, giving Iron Man some love ;)
Anyway, I have a couple of cards to share (which are all up in my madeit, and etsy stores)...
Here we go...
This card was a special request, for a friend, who wants to send the card to her best friend, who was complaining, he'll never get a "Congratulations, you're married" or "Congrats on your baby card", so, he'd like one with this sentiment - "Congratulations - You're Gay!"
I used patterned paper from Kaisercraft, and a digital stamp, from Some Odd Girl, coloured using my Spectrum Noir Markers. Embellishments include resin flowers, a bow and a glitter heart (diecut from Lawn Fawn)
Close up -

This one was made using the Deconstructing Jen Sketch #115 as inspiration. I'm also linking this card to the Some Odd Girl Linky Party (well both actually)
This one, I made to go straight into my store -
I started by selecting papers from Teresa Collins and My Minds Eye, and colouring up Mae from Some Odd Girl, I used the colour palette of the papers, to determine my colouring. I decided to add a gold glitter feather (die-cut from MFT) and a wooden Prima feather, I also used a trio of resin flowers and some gold sequins. The sentiment for this one, is from Simon Says Stamp. I'm linking this one up to Friday Sketch challenge, and the Simon Says Stamp - Die-cut Crazy challenge

Scrapbooking - D-Lish Scraps December Inspiration Board!

Hiya!
I have some exciting news, to share... Amanda, from D-Lish Scraps asked me to be part of the Summer creative team for the Inspiration Board challenges that are set every month at D-Lish
So, this months challenge went live about 2 hours ago... Here is the Inspiration board -
I started out looking at the inspiration board, and was struck by the butterflies, and the flowers, so they were my main focus. I used patterned paper, from Webster's Pages, and some cream card stock. I added some gold doodling... The pic is from a recent girls night out.
I gold embossed a filigree metal butterfly, using Gold Zing embossing powder, I also used a carnation, a mini pvc doily, in cream and some gold metal roses, oh and a heart pin.
Next to the photo, I've used a gold foil doily ( love these!), a chipboard butterfly, which I've gold embossed as well, another pvc doily, heart pin, carnation and more gold roses, I also added an apricot rhinestone circle for an added touch of bling!
Love how this page came together, in the end, everything just fell into place!
Don't forget to check out the D-Lish Scraps Just Add Paper Kits (going up this afternoon), to see what is available, to go along with this awesome inspiration board challenge!

The Greeting Farm - Birthday Card Polaroid!

Hi Ya!
I submitted my assignment for uni yesterday, so this morning, I had time to hit the craft desk *happy dance*
Here is the card I made -
I started by grabbing The Greeting Farm stamp set, and inking up this cutie... I coloured her up using my Spectrum Noir markers in grays, every thing that is, except her skin... I then trimmed her out, and grabbed a polaroid frame (mum bought them at K-mart a while back), I added a bunch of glitter card stock behind her. Then I set the frame aside, and focused on building the card.
I used patterned papers from Amy Tan, Teresa Collins and Sn@p (spreading the love a little)... I mounted everything on to slightly larger black cardstock and built up the card. I added a strip of velvet black ribbon, and a sentiment, which is from two different My Favourite Things stamp sets. I finished off the card by doodling borders (without a ruler). Here is the close up

The Greeting Farm - Friday, Birthday Card

Hello! I had a bit of a struggle day, craft wise yesterday... Nothing I seemed to do made me happy... although, I did manage a card base, I just couldn't get the image to work with it..... Then, I came back to it, last night.... here it is -
I started out with that fun rainbow patterned paper (Kaisercraft - Bubblegum Hills), and paired it up with some really old Kaisercraft dictionary paper, and a piece of glitter card, and die-cut some MFT Die-namic Chevrons in black card, and layered them up. Then, I sat and looked at the card, with 2-3 images coloured up, and hated them all... I couldn't make it work with a colourful image... So, I got out a new stamp I received from Stamp & Create, inked her up, and coloured her using gray scale, with my Spectrum Noir markers... I layered her up on the card base, with a sentiment and it worked! I then added 5 colourful sequins (from D-Lish Scraps) and called this card done.... Here is the close up -

Some Odd Girl - Thank You Mae

Hey guys! I got to craft!
I wanted to let you know, there is a 30% off sale in my MadeIt Store for the next few days!
If you want to keep up to date, with what's happening in store, pop over to my Facebook Page
Here is my card -
I started by picking out some older My Minds Eye patterned paper, and decided on what stamp to use. I decided on Thank You Mae which I stamped directly onto my X-Press blender card, and coloured her up using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I then drew some "ground" in, so she wasn't floating. I stamped the sentiment, from Hey Kaylee, and added some doodling, a touch of glitter and a trio of bling in the top corner.

The Greeting Farm - Get Well Card

Hey Hey!
I stamped this little chicky (The Greeting Farm - Rain, Snow, Shine) onto some X-Press It blender card and then coloured her up using my Spectrum Noir Markers. Her jacket has been paper pieced using patterned paper from My Minds Eye and, I added a touch of shading using my markers. When I'd finished colouring her, I fussy cut her out, and stamped them image again on my circle die cut and then popped her up on dimensionals. The card was built using patterned paper from My Minds Eye and I hand cut the pennants out of the paper. The sentiment is from My Favourite Things Pure Innocence range, and I stamped it on a piece of scrap card before attaching it to my card. I added a big yellow button to finish off this card with some natural twine strung through it and tied in a big bow.
I am entering this into the Mojo Monday sketch challenge (rotated), and the colour challenge at Splendid Stamping I'm also entering this into Simon Says Stamp, Die and Punch challenge

My Favourite Things Pure Innocence Stamp

Hi Again, I said I'd be back with another card to share :) So, here it is -
I started with patterned paper from Echo Park, layered up with more patterned paper, and of course, a little bit of glitter never hurt! I coloured my image using Spectrum Noir markers and also drew the clouds and sky in using my markers as well. The sentiment is from another Pure Innocence stamp set, called Water Lily, which I cut apart to position on each of the banners. I attached some paper flowers and a resin rose and some bling to finish it off.
I am entering this into the MFT Splitcoast Stampers Sketch challenge.
Thanks for dropping by :)
