I'm officially an ODD Girl! - Some Odd Girl - Party Girl Gwen

Hi guys! I have some super exciting news to share, and it may be part of the reason I've reopened my blog! I was recently asked if I would like to become a design team member for one of my all time favourite companies. I am now a member of the Facebook Design Team, for Some Odd Girl! If you love these stamps as much as I do, head on over to the Facebook group, and join in! There are bi-weekly challenges, as well as lots of crafty chatter! Here is the official announcement on the Some Odd Girl Blog too!
Anyway, this weeks challenge on the facebook group is paper piecing, one of my favourite techniques, an oldie but a goodie!
Here is my card
This card features Party Girl Gwen, I've used my copic markers and spectrum noir markers to colour her up, and used some leftover papers to stamp, and fussy cut her dress. I used papers from an old My Minds Eye Christmas paper pad (can you tell it's a Christmas paper?!) And some ribbon to finish this card off.

Some Odd Girl Digital Stamp - Water Fun

Hi Guys! Back today to share a Feeling Sketchy DT post with you :) This weeks sketch is one I had a lot of fun with....
F-Sketchy 14
So, here's my take on it
So, I started this card on Thursday night, by colouring in this super fun, summery digital image from Some Odd Girl. I actually coloured it twice, because I'd just gotten to finishing the first one, and messed it up.... in a big way! So, I reprinted it, and went again, and I like the second version much better! I then left the building of the card until Sunday night (because I'd fallen behind, oops!) I started out looking at the colours in my image, and picking out my patterned papers and cardstock based on the colours from the stamp. I rarely use orange in my cards (it's up there with purple) And layered it up with some white card stock, and patterned papers from Stampin' Up (the green) and a freebie paper pad (the blue) I then tied a big bow of orange satin ribbon that has been in my stash for a long time! The sentiment is from My Favourite Things.
I really enjoyed how easily this card came together, so if you want to play, come over to Feeling Sketchy and link up your card/s :)
I am also entering this into The Corrosive Challenge which is Summertime girls.

Kaisercraft Butterfly stamps and Patterned paper on a Blank Card

Hello! Day 2 of my 4 days off of work, and I had a quiet one at home, with watching movies and lazing around... I got into the craft room this evening, and created, although, I'm not overly happy with the results, I think my mojo has gone walkies... So will be getting out of the house tomorrow, and clearing my head
This is a Baja Breeze card base, layered with Lucky Limeade and some patterned paper by Kaisercraft. I cut out the circles using my Big Shot and layered them in Basic Gray and White. I stamped, and coloured my butterflies, the first two in Gray and the final one with Baja Breeze, which I covered in sparkly holographic embossing powder to make it 'pop' I added a strip of Celery Grosgrain Ribbon and tied a bow.
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the sketch from iSpy Sketches, next up is the colour combo from The Play Date Cafe, and finally, the Ribbon Carousel Spring Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to head on over to Feeling Sketchy and join in with our first ever sketch, you have until 6am (AEST) Monday to enter!

New Challenge Blog and My DT Sample Card! Gorjuss Bird on the Wire

I mentioned a week or two ago about being approached to help run a new challenge blog, Feeling Sketchy, of course I said yes, and this morning, at 6am, the first challenge was launched! Here is my card -
This card is fairly basic, but I think it packs quite a punch :) It is a Early Espresso card base, layered with some retired Stampin' Up! designer paper, I then layered a piece of Soft Suede which I had stamped with the Woodgrain background stamp, and wrapped some Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon around, and tied a bow. The main image is Bird on the Wire, from Gorjuss and was coloured using my Stampin' Write Markers.
So, here's this weeks sketch,
If you want to play along, head on over to the blog and link up your creation, every entry goes in the draw for our monthly giveaway, which is sponsered this month by The Stamp Spot.

Stampin' Up! Friendly Phrases and I create a just because card.

Hi guys! I'm back again with another card... At the moment, I'm trying to use more patterned papers on my cards, I have a whole bunch of the 6" x 6" paper pads from various companies, so I figured I should start using them! I also need to keep using the ribbons I've got, as I have a slight obsession in buying new ribbon from The Ribbon Carousel! Anyway, on to my card!
I've used a Baja Breeze card base, layered it with Confetti White card and a piece of Daffodil Delight (with a littl punched border of Baja Breeze) The patterned paper on this card is from My Minds Eye and I've cut it into one and a half inch squares, the spent ages lining them all up and glued them down. Before attaching the Daffodil Piece to the Confetti White piece, I added some Stampin' Up! Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon and tied a bow. The sentiment (from Friendly Phrases, Stampin' Up!) is stamped in Night of Navy, and is set off with 3 blue rhinestones.
I am entering this into the CardPatterns sketch challenge.

There She Goes, Dance like no-one is watching Card

Hi guys! I had to have another play in the craft room this evening, and came out with a card that makes me smile :)
This is quite a large card (for me anyway) it is 7.5 inches tall by 4.25 inches wide. I started out with a Very Vanilla card base, and layered 2 pieces of patterned paper on it (Kaisercraft and October Afternoon), and some more gorgeous ribbon! I used this one from the Ribbon Carousel and tied a big bow. The lovely sentiment is from There She Goes and is a beautiful saying. Something I think we all need to take a little time to do.... Next up, I stamped three gorgeous butterflies from PTI and coloured them using my Stampin' Write Markers. I then attached the blue ones just using double sided tape, but the yellow one has a dimensional stuck to his back to make him pop :)
I am entering this into the Play Date Cafe challenge, the colours appealed to me straight away. I took inspiration from February Muse Karola Witczak over at CASE Study (the elongated card, and the general layout, also the touch of stitching...) and of course over at Ribbon Carousel Challenge
Thanks again!

The Greeting Farm and I create a 'Sweet' Card

Hi Guys! I had a pretty terrible day, with some bad health news. So, to take my mind off it for a little while, I sat and created a card to share with you all.
This is a Crumbcake/Kraft card base, which I have layered with Pink Pirouette card stock and some patterned paper. I wrapped some white lace and some lovely 5/8" Light Pink Sheer Ruffled Edge Ribbon, from the Ribbon Carousel, then I coloured my Greeting Farm image with Stampin' Write Markers and a Blender Pen. I cut out a Spellbinder Nestabilities and sponged it lightly with Blushing Bride Ink, stamp the sentiment and made up a swirl of diamante.
I am entering this into 3 challenges, the first is the Anyone For Anya Treats challenge, I went for something 'sweet' (with the sentiment). Next up, is The Stamp Spot Sketch challenge, and finally the Friday Mashup Inspiration photo.
Thanks for popping by!

Scrapbooking - Picture Heavy Post

Two weekends a go, The Scrapbooking Haven hosted a Cyber Crop, where there were 11 challenges. I have never participated in a Cyber Crop before, but thought I'd give it a whirl. I do have a whole bunch of photos that needed a scrapbook page! So, in I jumped....
This one was a blind scrapbook challenge, where all the instructions were given, but no visuals were available. I found it a really interesting way to scrapbook.
Challenge to use only Blue and Yellow on a layout.
Tic Tac Toe Challene. I chose to used 2 or more photos, include 3 or more buttons and tear each layer. This layout was really difficult for me, as this style is so not me!
White + 1 Challenge to use white and magenta (shades of magenta)
Recipe Challenge to include the below elements on a layout
Paint/ink on your background paper, an altered piece of chipboard, brads, string and strips of patterned paper.

Sketch Challenge.
Numbers Challenge
1 tag
2 photos
3 printed paper
4 word title
5 word journaling
6 embies of your choice

Challenge to use misting in your background. This was my least favourite challenge and layout, I really struggled with it.
Hidden Journaling challenge. The little envelope opens up to show some journaling.
Happy Challenge, must use "Happy" in your title.
The next two weren't part of the cyber crop, but they are part of the 52 layout challenge over at Scrapbooking Haven, and I thought I'd pop them all in one post :)
Week 4
Challenge to use felt somewhere on your layout. I made a bunch of rolled roses out of felt.

Week 5
Case Amy's layout. I loved all the white space, and the use of butterflies and quilted block.
Thanks for dropping by!

The Greeting Farm and Stampin' Up!'s Up Up and Away! create a Masculine Birthday card

Hi guys, we had a power outage for a little over an hour today, so, armed with a couple of challenges I'd written down earlier, and a bit of inspiration, I headed into the craft room....
So, this is a Basic Grey card base, which I have layered with papers from My Minds Eye and a piece of Always Artichoke Denim Ribbon (I think it looks more grey than artichoke) and the set aside the card base. I took my colours for this little guy from the patterned papers, and coloured him with Stampin' Write Markers and my Blender Pen (on watercolour paper), I then cut him out. I cut out a square of Whisper White, stamped the sentiment which is from Up Up and Away, and then layered it on to some Poppy Parade. I put a whole bucket load of dimensionals on the little guys back and stuck him on to the card base. The card looked a little unfinished, so I dug out 3 tiny red rhinestones and rounded the corners.
I am entering this into three challenges :) The first is the Anyone For Anya recipe challenge - 3 patterned papers, 2 embellishments (ribbon + rhinestones) and 1 image, next up is the sketch challenge from Card Patterns, it's been a little while since I played over there, but loved this sketch, and had to play. And finally, the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.

Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps and Stampin' Write Markers create a Missing You Card

Hi guys, I'm back with a card! This one features a really cute Digital Stamp I downloaded this afternoon (instant gratification!)
Photobucket
I started by printing this little chicky onto watercolour paper, and then coloured her using my Stampin' Write Markers, and a Blender pen. I've used minimal colours in the actual image, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Tempting Turquoise, Blossom Blush, and Real Red. I then sparkled up her shoes, cause every girl wants a pair of Dorothy shoes
Anyway, on with the rest of the card.... I used a Real Red card base, and layered it with Whisper White and a triangle of Tempting Turquoise patterned paper (DSP Brights stack), tied some white grosgrain ribbon around the top, with a lovely bow. The sentiment is made up of Nesting Circle and Nesting Scallop Circle dies and the words made with stickers and the Stampin' Up! Timeless Type Die.
Ok, so I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the Some Odd Girl colour challenge, which I LOVE these colours together right now! The second is the Friday Mashup! which is something new, or the Sketch, and I mashed it up this week, with new digital stamps :) and the sketch.... And finally, the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge :)

KaiserCraft Large Desk Organiser

Now for something completely different hey? One of the craft groups I've joined on Facebook had one of these shown and I thought to myself, that is something I'd use.... So, here it is
I made up the draws themselves using my hot glue gun and some papers from Kaisercraft, from the Hippy Girl Collection. I then put a layer of wood glue over the top and let it dry. I had those done 2 or 3 weeks ago... then, I got distracted... Yesterday, I went to the shops, and purchased some white gloss spray paint, and today I sprayed it. I think if I was going to do another one, I'd get a paint brush out to paint the unit itself, as I didn't like the control (or lack of) I had with the spray paint. Once it was dry, I did get the paint brush and some acrylic paint to patch it up. Then, it just came down to filling it :)
The bottom drawer has my staz-on, versamark and other ink pads. The smaller drawers contain my 3 Distress Ink pads, rhinestones and sticky notes in one and the final one has dimensionals in it.
I love how it turned out :)
