Gorjuss Princess with Teddy Bear and I make a birthday card

Ok, so once again, it has been quiet on my blog... But, I do have a reason... I have an assignment due this week, as well as some unexpected bad news, so, I haven't had any craft mojo... at all! Until, today... I had a lovely friend drop round, and bring me flowers *squee!*
And, I got to colour in a stamp I received in the mail a few days ago, that I hadn't had time to play with yet.... I also received the Bloggess' book in the mail on Thursday, so my nose has been buried in it! It's just as funny as her blog, and just as scattered and awesome.... Anyway, onto my card -
I used some cardstock mum had cut up for me last time she was here (I think it is Cherry Cobbler, but could be wrong..) and patterned papers from Simple Stories Fabulous 6x6 Paper Pad, My Minds Eye and one a little piece from some 6x6 papers Annmaree sent me. The oval is cut out using my newest addition to my ever growing Die collection - Spellbinders Classic Ovals... I then put lots of dimensionals on the back of this Gorjuss Image and attached her. I coloured her using my Stampin' Write Markers, and a Blender Pen. If you know me, you'd know I can't go past putting ribbon on a card right now.... And this on was no exception... I used Ivory Cotton Twill  and some Stampin' Up! Seam Binding Ribbon to tie a bow. I stamped the sentiment, (from PTI) and added some silver stickles to her crown and her teddy's crown and three little rhinestones to finish off this card.
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the sketch from iSpy Sketches, next up is the two anything goes challenges over at Ribbon Carousel and Simon Says Stamp
Thanks for dropping by :)

Stampin' Up! Whimsical Words and I {heart] Hearts

Back again, to show you the Clean and Simple Card I made :)
The pink section of this card was made by colouring my Acrylic Block with my Stampin' Write Markers in Real Red, Riding Hood Red and Cherry Cobbler, spritzing it with a little bit of water then smooshing (technical hey?) it on to my card front.... I did this a couple of times, as I used a small block... Once it was dry (this takes a while) I stamped the outline heart from I {heart} Hearts in black, I used the small part of the Whimsical Words sentiment, "follow your heart, it knows the way" but selectively left out the heart....
I don't know if I particularly like this card, but for a CAS card, I think it works....
I am entering this over at Less Is More where this weeks challenge is a one layer card featuring at least one heart... So, there you go....
Thanks for dropping back, and I'd also like to give a shout out to my newest followers, you guys make me smile, and make this worth while....!

Stampin' Up! Tree Trimmings and I create a Christmas Card

Hi guys, I've almost finished my assignment, just one part to go! :) Yay! So, this afternoon, I made a matching card for the star album I made during the week...
It's a Soft Suede card base layered with the almost retired Newsprint DSP which I sponged with Crumbcake. I layered a piece of scallop border punch in Cherry Cobbler then stamped the three ornaments from Tree Trimmings on a separate piece of Vanilla card. I stamped each of the ornaments in Crumbcake, Soft Suede and Cherry Cobbler, I then went over them with my Versamarker and clear embossed them for some shininess. I stamped the sentiment, which is from Snow Swirled and used my Modern Label punch. To finish off this card, I used my Early Espresso Marker to draw some strings, and a double border.
I am entering this into the Stamping 411 Sketch challenge...
Oh, and here is a pic of the card with the matching Star Album!

Thanks for dropping by!

Stampin' Up! Trendy Trees and I create a Thank You card

Well, it is my last week of being a guest designer over at Just Add Ink, and I just want to say a massive Thank You to the wonderful ladies over there! This weeks theme is Just Add - Something that has been in your stash for ages without use... I decided on the Trendy Trees stamp set, which hasn't seen much ink lately...
I started off with a piece of white card stock, brayered So Saffron, Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral (new in colour), Real Red and a teensie bit of Cherry Cobbler. I then sponged some hills using Lucky Limeade (new in colour) I stamped the tree and sentiment (both from Trendy Trees) in black and sponged some Old Olive underneath for shadows... I layered the image panel on Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla, and mounted it on Lucky Limeade card base, I finished it off with some vanilla ribbon that has been in my stash since I first started card making!
Be sure to head over to Just Add Ink, and check out what the other designers have created!
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Snow Swirled, Tree Trimmings, Dasher and Contempo Christmas create a Vintage Star Album

Hi Guys, I should warn you all now, this is going to be a picture heavy post.... I have created a Christmas mini star album for an international holidays swap... luckily, I only had to make one!
So, this is the front, I used a piece of backing card you get when you order a pack of designer series papers. The album size is 4 inches square. I have covered the backing card using the Newsprint DSP, and inked the edges using Crumbcake. I stamped Dasher is Soft Suede on Very Vanilla, and mounted it on Suede. I added a rhinestone for his nose. The ribbon is non-Stampin' Up! and is almost a perfect match for Cherry Cobbler.
This is just to show you a different angle, the pages are Cherry Cobbler, followed by Soft Suede and Very Vanilla... Now the insides:
I sponged all the Vanilla pieces with Crumbcake, and purposefully left some of the pages blank, so my swap sister can insert photos, or journalling.

Other pages, like these ones, I filled with a Christmas quote or picture that I thought was really nice

This page, (below) is  probably my favourite...

Sorry about my fingers in these, the pages wouldn't sit open by themselves...

I used only 5 stamp sets and 4 colours to create this entire album, Dasher, Snow Swirled, Contempo Christmas, Tree Trimmings and a Hero Arts stamp I don't remember the name of... The colours are Soft Suede, Crumbcake, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla. Here is a look at the album open, with all the pages showing.
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping

Stampin' Up! Artistic Etchings and Medallion paired to make Vintage Thank You Cards

I seem to have found my mojo, must have been camped in my super messy craft room, must have uncovered it while doing a quick clean up last night.... Half of my ink pads and stamp sets are at my mums house waiting for me to join them tonight, for Stamp Club tomorrow, so this was done using Stampin' Write Markers....
To start with, I used a Cherry Cobbler card base which I have layered with some Basic Black. The grid paper is from my favourite pack of Designer Series Paper- Newsprint. I have stamped the Eiffel Tower using Cherry Cobbler, masked it and stamped the Medallion using Soft Suede ink. I have tied a piece of Satin Ribbon around the base and added a tag from Tiny Tags and cut it out using the matching punch, a small hole in one end and a little bit of twine finishes this card off.
I am entering this into the Just Add Ink colour challenge which I struggled with at first, but that's what a challenge is all about isn't it?
Until next time, Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Sail Away and I create a Masculine Card

Hi All! Back again. This time with a masculine card to share. I started this card with something completely different in mind, but this is what eventuated...
This card is fairly basic.... Not Quite Navy card base, layered with Cherry Cobbler and a piece of Night of Navy, wrapped in some twine.... The I punched a few holes and added three mini silver brads. I stamped the Sail Away image in Basic Black and mounted it on the Cherry Cobbler piece. I have intentionally left a sentiment off of this card, as I couldn't decide what I wanted it to be....
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Stamping 411 Sketch, and the second is the Create, Ink! colour challenge.
Until next time!
Happy stamping!

Stampin' Up! French Foliage and I create Thank You Cards

Another card I created last night, this one I had a touch more success with. Well, I am happier with it than the multi-layered card I made up last night... I am still not overly impressed with it... I think today I have to clean that craft room up, and get my mojo back!
I have used a new favourite stamp set, one you've seen me use quite a lot recently, French Foliage. I love how it comes out looking different every time... I have done a bit of masking with this card, stamping the leaves in Old Olive, Peach Parfait, and Cherry Cobbler. The splatters, text and sponging was done in Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Crumbcake. The sentiment is from Curly Cute and I have framed it using the Decorative Label Punch. I have actually made it so that when the card is standing, you can see the sentiment through the label punch window... Here is another picture...
I am entering this into the Less is More Recipe challenge which this week is to have your focal image in one of the designated squares.... I will definitely be trying this one again once my craft room is in working order again. Turns out, that I just cannot craft comfortably in a complete mess...

Stampin' Up! Eat Chocolate makes adorable Easter Gift Bags

Last week, I had a craft play date with wonderful people, Sue, and Kim (sick of hearing their names?) One of the projects Sue showed us how to make is this really cute bag
This bag is made out of two A4 pieces of cardstock, when scored and adhered correctly, will fit a 200 gram block of chocolate in it.... For Easter this year, I plan on making a few more of these, and popping blocks of chocolate in them.... I have used the Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper out of Stampin' Up!'s current Winter mini catalogue, paired with Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive. Head on over to Kim and Sue's blogs to have a look at their takes on this little bag

Stampin' Up! French Foliage and I create a Sympathy Card

I find I don't have many Sympathy cards in my stash, and when the time comes that I need to send one, I don't feel like making them. So, I decided I needed to add a few more. Today, I went shopping, and bought a new impressions folder for my Big Shot, so once returning home, I had to play. I tried embossing on acetate here.
I have used a stamp from Stampin' Up! Winter Mini catalogue, French Foliage to create the "flower"out of some leaves which have been inked using sponges. Also, from the Stampin' Up! Winter Mini is that Decorative Label Punch, which is ever so popular! I have used Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler and Peach Parfait inks.
I am entering this card into the Less is More Challenge, ("hi" to all the LIMettes!) which is to use acetate.
I'll be back in a little while with some more cards I have made using products out of the new mini!

Stampin' Up! Sew Suite and I create cute Because I Care cards

Hi all,
I'm back again with more cards created using the Sew Suite stamp set from the new Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue that was released just last week.
.
I have used the little mannequin out of the set, and dressed it up using some non-Stampin' Up! ribbon that is a perfect match for the Stampin' Up! colour Cherry Cobbler.... I also used a retired hostess set which has the cutest sentiments. I am entering this into the Less is More, a touch of red. I love the simplicity of this card, and think it would work well as a card for a small gift, as it about 4" square.
If you want to get your hands on this cute stamp set, email me (jessidee86@gmail.com) or give me a call on 0405 173 237
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Ornate Blossom is very versatile, Christmas Card and Thank you Card

Ok, so this is another couple of cards from our craft day last week. This time, the colour combo was one I struggled a little bit with.... So Saffron, Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry, Wild Wasabi and Early Espresso.
So, I clear embossed the damask pattern from Bliss on the Early Espresso cardstock, then coloured the ornate blossom with my stampin' write markers, then stamped it on to some very vanilla. I wanted to add some depth to the colours, so went over selected parts with my markers for definition. The sentiment is from Short and Sweet (one of my all time favourite sentiment sets) and is cut out using the Modern Label Punch. The ribbon is retired SU, Wild Wasabi.
Ok, after making these cards, Kim and I sat looking at the Ornate Blossom stamp, thinking, there has to be more that we can do with this.... Kim was looking at the stamp upside down, and brilliantly noticed it looks like a pine cone.... So, we moved on to doing a Christmas card each. This one was not colour combo'd at all, just use the stamp...
I chose to use Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White. I embossed half the White with the Polka Dots Embossing Folder, and left the other half un-embossed. The image was stamped using Cherry Cobbler, and then I glued down some loose silver glitter. The ribbon is non-su, but is a perfect match for Cherry Cobbler. The sentiment is from Snow Swirled, and I think fits perfectly.
Check out what Kim did with the colour combinations, and this stamp set! Next time you have a stamp that doesn't seem to work, look at it from another angle, you may find something surprising...
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embossolit makes pretty embellishments!

Hey, back again with a card to share. In my order that I received yesterday, I got the Embossolit, Beautiful Wings to use in my Big Shot. I had been putting off buying it, until I knew how it worked... after my mum bought it (always the guinea pig...) I had a go, found how easy it was to use, and bought it!
Oh, I just wanted to let you all know my mum has finally joined the Stampin' Up! family! She decided to sign up as my downline after seeing how much fun I was having! I think she'll do so well!
Anyway, onto the card
This card uses the sketch from Mojo Monday, and the colours were an experiment... hehe.. I like how it turned out... The circle was cut using my Stampin' Up! Circle Scissors, with the edging a piece of bashful blue punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch, which I've then cut at intervals to go around my circle. The leaves are from the 2 Step Bird punch, and the quote from Butterfly Prints... The ribbon is Bashful Blue stitched grosgrain, which is now retired...
Thanks for looking, and Happy Stamping!
If you've got a moment, pop over to my Mums Blog and say Hi!

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration set Punch Bunch and I create Mothers Day Cards

Hi all! Back again with another card to share with you all
Out of the Sale-a-bration set Punch Bunch, I thought I'd use the owl most often, but funnily enough, I haven't. It's been this pretty poppy image that I keep reaching for. I have made this card to join my growing stash of Mothers Day Cards For the Troops that I have been putting together. As usual, I used a few challenges to get me started. The Less is More challenge this week is Pastels (I cringed a little), but had to play anyway.... Next up was the SUOnly Challenge which was to use anything Sale-a-bration, so Punch Bunch got used :-)
The last challenge I am entering this into, is the Stamping Vacation You name the challenge, which is to link up a card that is connected to another challenge.... So, here we are...
The recipe for this card-
Ink - Bashful Blue, Certain Celery, Cherry Cobbler (stamped off)
Cardstock- Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla and Crumbcake
Ribbon- Retired SU! Bashful Blue stitched Grosgrain.
Punch- Circle Punch and Scallop Circle
Thanks for looking, and Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Trendy Trees - Thinking of You Card

Hi all!
I made this card this morning, but thought I'd spread my posts out a little bit, so you're not bombarded with posts....
I made this card to add to my growing collection of cards for the Newcastle Show which is coming up in 2 weeks! I used a couple of challenges to get my mojo started.... The first was the Curtain Call Colour Challenge, once again a tricky colour combo! I wasn't going to add the little bit of green in my chalking, but I needed to 'ground' my trees, so they got grass.... The second challenge I am entering this into is the Less is More challenge, which this week is a recipe challenge, to use 3 squares.
This card is currently sitting on my computer desk, with me humming and haaing about whether I like it... what are your thoughts?
Happy Stamping!

Sale-a-bration Stamp Set Punch Bunch, For You Card

Hi all,
Welcome back.... I have another card to show you, which is another Clean and Simple Card....
I was surprised after seeing the challenge colours from Just Add Ink this week, that I came up with two cards that I liked... It was a daunting colour challenge, using River Rock, Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler.
I used the Sale-a-bration Stamp Set Punch Bunch for this card, I coloured the image with my Stampin' Write Markers (directly onto the stamp) then stamped it on some Whisper White before punching it with my circle punch and layering it on the scallop circle. In the centres on the poppies, I did coloured in some yellow, and then got a fine tipped black pen, and drew in some 'stamen' I also added some shadowing using the small end of my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker.
If you would like to get the Punch Bunch Stamp set for FREE, email me or give me a call on 0405 173 237 to find out how today!
Until next time, Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue ad I create Just Because Cards

Hi There Again!
Sorry for the massive blog changes over the last few days. I wasn't happy with my original layout, so had to change it all! I have a card to share with you tonight... A very Clean and Simple Card!
The stamp set I used was one I got when I first joined Stampin' Up! It's called Vintage Vogue, and I've used two elements on this card that rarely get used... that pretty little flourish, and the big Friends sentiment. I used the challenge colours from Just Add Ink, which were River Rock (a totally underrated colour), Daffodil Delight, and Cherry Cobbler. The ribbon is non-SU! but, matches perfectly to Cherry Cobbler, and I picked up very cheap (10c a metre!) I really should get the rest of the roll next time I'm at the LSS...
Thanks for looking, and come back later today for another card made using these colours...
Happy Stamping!

Colour Q #72

Hey bloggies...
A card to share with you today.... a card I really struggled with. I have a huge pile of off cuts in these colours now, looking at me forlornly... I inked up so many stamps and still couldn't come up with anything! Until this -
I wanted to make it look like the circus, so there is the bunting, and the mixed animals.... although, I have never seen a fox, owl or whale at the circus... hehe.... It's a fairly simplistic card when it comes down to it.... the bunting is actually only tied to the front of the card, and moves....
These colours are for the Colour Q challenge #72... which was a daunting one..
Anyway, I have to get ready to head to the craft store... I keep forgetting I need blades for my paper cutter.... So, a trip down to the craft store to replace them.... and a look around never hurt anyone hehe :P
Happy Stamping!

Curtain Call Colour Challenge

Back again,
Mark has gone to work, and I'm home alone, bored... the house could do with a tidy, but that seems like a little too much like work... So, it didn't get done, instead, I've spent the day procrastinating! One of my procrastination methods is card making, so even though I really didn't feel like sitting and crafting (cause it's a bit of a mess too...) I did....
This card fulfils the Curtain Call Colour challenge, which you can see below....
I love the Stampin' Up! Designer series papers, that match with the colour groups! I bought the Brights collection at my last stamp club... and I honestly don't know how I survived without them before! They may seem expensive at $37.95 for a pack of patterned paper, but, you do get 40 sheets, which brings them down to 95c a piece! Very reasonable I think, as it co-ordinates perfectly with everything else SU! If you'd like to order some designer series paper, or anything else send me an email to jessidee86@gmail.com, or call me on 0405173237.
Thanks, and Happy Stamping!

Mojo Monday 175

Do you ever have those cards that go together seamlessly? They are quick to make because nothing goes wrong? I made one tonight, one I'm super happy with....
This was made using the Mojo Monday Sketch 175,
I started off with my circle piece, knowing I wanted to go back to an old favourite... Trendy Trees. So, I stamped my cute little tree in Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler and heat embossed them, then sponged some sky and grass in Bashful Blue and Old Olive. I then cut out a slightly larger circle using the circle scissors (from SU!) in Cherry Cobbler and mounted my tree image on to it. I stamped the sentiment (From MFThings) in Choc Chip. The back ground piece is Old Olive stamped with a retired SU! stamp set (I don't know the name of it, cause I threw out the case! This was my first SU! purchase!) The ribbon is retired Bashful Blue, with the Cherry Cobbler bow and button non-SU. A little bit of faux stitching to finish it off...
Don't forget to participate in my challenge for blog candy Here!
