Stampin' Up! Tree Trimmings and Shimmer Paint make very pretty Christmas Cards

Hi Guys! I run a stamp club on the Central Coast every second month, and next Wednesday is our next one. I really wanted to showcase a technique I learnt not that long ago. Faux Mother of Pearl, using Stampin' Up! Shimmer Paint. Also, I wanted one of the cards to be a Christmas in July card, to get my ladies starting to think about Christmas.... So, here is one of the cards we will be making at Stamp Club.
I have used a Whisper White base, then popped a piece of Baja Breeze through my Bigshot with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, once it was embossed, I rubbed a White Craft ink pad lightly over it, to highlight the embossing. The main image is Glossy White card which has had White Shimmer paint "splodged" (nice terminology?) on it. Once it was dry, I sponged some Baja Breeze on top, I didn't particularly like the colour, so went over it again with a light coat of Night of Navy sponging. I then stamped the ornaments from Tree Trimmings in Night of Navy and Pacific Point, drew their strings using a Black Stampin' Write Marker, and layered it onto the card base with some dimensionals. The sentiment is from Basic Phrases, stamped in Baja Breeze, cut out using the Modern Label punch and popped with more dimensionals.
I am entering this into The Paper Players Christmas in July Challenge, and hope the girls like this and the other cards we will be making :-)
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree make Masculine cards easy!

Today I had a craft catch up with some crafty buddies, you may remember Kim and Sue (how could you forget hey?) Well, it had been a while since we had been together for a craft day.... Here is the first card I made...
We started out using the Faux Mother of Pearl Technique, as Kim had not done it before. It is hard to see in this photo, but I have made the image panel faux mother of pearl using Crumbcake and White Shimmer Paint. I have then stamped the tree image from Lovely as a Tree in Staz-on, masked it, and stamped it again. I have then mounted this on to Crumbcake. I embossed a piece of Not Quite Navy using a non-Stampin' Up! embossing folder, and my Bigshot. I have then added a strip of Riding Hood Red, which has this metal embellishment, which is retired Stampin' Up! Stock. I mounted this all on a folded piece of Early Espresso.
I used the colours from the Colour Lab Colour Challenge #43, and I have used inspiration from SUO Challenges which was to make a masculine card.
Anyway, head on over to Kim and Sue's blogs to check out their creations using this stamp set and technique!
Until tomorrow,
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! French Foliage and I create Thank You Cards

Another card I created last night, this one I had a touch more success with. Well, I am happier with it than the multi-layered card I made up last night... I am still not overly impressed with it... I think today I have to clean that craft room up, and get my mojo back!
I have used a new favourite stamp set, one you've seen me use quite a lot recently, French Foliage. I love how it comes out looking different every time... I have done a bit of masking with this card, stamping the leaves in Old Olive, Peach Parfait, and Cherry Cobbler. The splatters, text and sponging was done in Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Crumbcake. The sentiment is from Curly Cute and I have framed it using the Decorative Label Punch. I have actually made it so that when the card is standing, you can see the sentiment through the label punch window... Here is another picture...
I am entering this into the Less is More Recipe challenge which this week is to have your focal image in one of the designated squares.... I will definitely be trying this one again once my craft room is in working order again. Turns out, that I just cannot craft comfortably in a complete mess...

Stampin' Up! Easter Blooms and I create feminine Birthday Cards

Hi! What a stressful day! I was dropped at work at 7am then, Mark (my most awesome house mate) headed home. On the way home, he had a small accident, running up the back of a bigger car which had a towball. The lil barina of ours, now has a very bent radiator, and is off the road at the moment. Mark is completely okay though, which is the best news. My little sister has generously lent us her car until ours is back on the road. Anyway, this afternoon after I got home from work, I decided I needed to de-stress and get into my craft room. This is what I came up with
This is such a feminine card. I have used a Elegant Eggplant card base, then layered a piece of Crumbcake with a pretty design which is part of the Easter Blooms (which is retired) stamped tone on tone, this has a scallop border punch in Perfect Plum. The circle is a piece of Gloss Card, which has been given the faux mother of pearl technique, but with Elegant Eggplant sponged over the top. I think it looks a bit like marble. I have then stamped the cherry blossom image in Staz On Black. The sentiment is from Short and Sweet and has been stamped in Basic Black. I really like how this card turned out. I am entering this into two challenges, the first being the CR84FN colour challenge, the second is the Paper Players Sketch Challenge.
Until later,
Happy Stamping!
