My Favourite Things - Birthday Princess

Hi Guys! I'm currently in the process of packing up the house for moving next weekend (!) So, it might be quiet over here on the blog in the coming week.... Here's a card I made today -
I used the MFT Birthday Princess stamp and paper pieced her dress using the Sale-a-bration paper from Stampin' Up! I coloured her skin, hair, cake and hat using my Spectrum Noir Markers and cut her out. My card base is white, layered up with Peach Parfait, and some patterned paper from Echo Park, which I sewed around. The main image panel is pretty self explanatory, with the scallop circles actually cut out using my circle dies and cutting them in half (I don't have a big scallop punch/die like this) and I added some rhinestones in the valleys. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! Sincere Salutations.
I used the MFTSC76 Sketch for this card, as well as inspiration from the Annabelle Stamps Paper Piecing challenge.

Thanks for popping by :)

Some Odd Girl - Royal Mothers Day Card

I know mothers day has been and gone, but I have to show you the card I made for my mum.
I made up a Centre Step card (it was the first time I've made one) using this tutorial. I messed it up twice before reading the instructions properly :P Anyway... I used Crumbcake card for the base, layered up with Soft Suede and the now retired Sale-a-bration designer series paper. I cut a Spellbinders Oval out, and sponged it with Pool Party and a touch of Soft Suede ink then focused on this beautiful stamp from Some Odd Girl. I stamped her once on to watercolour paper and once on to patterned paper. On the patterned paper, I cut out just her dress and top and added shading using the Stampin' Write Marker that matched the paper. I then coloured her skin, hair, eyes and lips. I cut her out, and felt she needed the crown, so I stamped it using Versamark and heat embossed it using Gold Zing embossing powder. Her crown is only outlined, and it didn't have quite the oomph I wanted, so with my Versamarker and coloured the crown in completely and re-heat embossed it using more Gold Zing. (Oomph achieved!) I stamped the sentiment "You deserve the Royal treatment" and added some red bling to it and her crown.
I am entering this card into the Stampalot monthly challenge which my wonderful friend Annmaree told me about. Their challenge this month is Medals or Monarchs
Stampalot challenge
Have a wonderful day!

Stampin' Up! Fresh Vintage and Friends Never Fade

Hey Hey! (I recently went back through a bunch of my posts, and realised most of them start with "Hi There", so changing it up a bit!) I have a quick layered card to share today! I rarely use more than two or three layers on my cards, so this one was a bit of a deviation for me! Including the ribbon, there is 10 (!) layers on this card!!
.
I started off with a Crumbcake base, layered with Blushing Bride and then some heavily stamped Vanilla. I stamped it with the flower image from Sale-a-bration set Fresh Vintage, and the En Francais Background stamp in Crumbcake and sponged the edges. Next I cut out a scallop circle in Crumbcake, and a Circle Nestie in Very Vanilla, which got the same treatment as the background. I added two layers of ribbon, the bottom layer is the Ribbon Carousel's Vintage Seam Binding ribbon in Leather Tan, and some pretty pink ruffled ribbon. The next layers are the image/sentiment which is from Friends Never Fade, and has been stamped in Wild Wasabi and layered on to Vanilla and then Crumbcake, this was popped on with a bunch of dimensionals. I added three paper roses in pink and three pearls to finish off this card.
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the sketch over at The Ribbon Carousel, next is the Tuesday Trigger from Moxie Fab World and finally, the Bit O'Green challenge at Simon Says Stamp challenge blog.

We're about half way until my blog candy is drawn, so do get in before the 31st :)

Gorjuss - Rose stamp, Stampin' Up! Elementary Elegance and I create a soft, elegant birthday card

Hi guys! I'm back with a card I made before an early night last night.
This is a Crumbcake card base layered with Pink Pirouette and a piece of October Afternoon patterned paper. On top of this is a piece of Whisper White and Crumbcake, punched with the eyelet border punch and some very pretty Vintage Seam Binding Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel, and a sentiment from the Sale-a-bration set Elementary Elegance. The main image is a new one I received this week in the mail, it is a Gorjuss stamp called Rose, and I coloured her with my Stampin' Write Markers and paper pieced her dress. I finished this card with a few pearls. I'm really happy with how this card turned out :)
I am entering this into three challenges, the first one is the colour challenge from The Play Date Cafe, I also used the Card Patterns sketch from last week, but missed the deadline... So, instead, I'm entering this over at the Ribbon Carousel and Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes.

Thanks for popping by, don't forget the sale over at my Made It Store, or my blog candy giveaway!

The Greeting Farm New Parents and Stampin' Up! Sincere Salutations and I create a Birthday Card

Hi guys! I'm back again today to show you a card that I made up :)
I used a Basic Gray card base and layered it with Calypso Coral and some patterned paper from KaiserCraft
and some twine with a random button from my stash. The Lil guy is the dad from The Greeting Farm's New Parents stamp set, and has been coloured using my Stampin' Write Markers on watercolour paper. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Sincere Salutations and has been stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed using white embossing powder. The Brads are from Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration freebies :)
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Colour Q challenge, which included the retired colour Dusty Durango, which is a colour I don't have so, I tried matching it with the closest that is a current colour.... Next up is the Cardabilities Sketch, which I have put a bit of a spin on.
Thanks for popping by!

The Greeting Farm and Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Elementary Elegance and I create a Birthday Card

Hi guys! I have a card to show quickly before I head to bed.
I started out by stamping this little chicky on watercolour paper, and colouring her with my Stampin' Write Markers and a blender pen (anyone surprised?) Then I cut her out carefully and popped her on a Spellbinders Nestability, which I'd stamped with Perfect Plum and Elementary Elegance for the sentiment. Then using the colours of the watercoloured image, I built my card. I used a Perfect Plum card base, with some Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper, and card stock. I wrapped some Rose Red Seam Binding ribbon around, and tied a bow. The green patterned paper is from Kaisercraft. I rounded the corners of the card, and figured this one was done :)
I am entering this into the iSpySketches Sketch 1 Challenge. I was introduced to this wonderful new challenge blog by one of my craft idols Danielle Daws as she is on their Design Team. I really liked the sketch, but being me, I turned it on it's side and changed it to a regular card size.
Thanks for popping by!

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Outlined Occasions and I create a cute Valentines Card

Hi guys! Today I spent the day in the craft room, cutting up card stock and tidying up my desk (again)I have a workshop this weekend, so needed to get prepared. Once all the card was cut down, I sat and crafted for a little while, and this is what I came up with
This is a Crumbcake card base, layered with some Whisper White, and some patterned paper I've had in my stash for a while and I'm getting down to the scraps :) (love Polka Dots!) and some Real Red card stock. I then sat and coloured my little girl from My Favourite Things. I stamped her a second time on some Regal Rose patterned paper, and cut out her top, added some shading and stuck it down. I added some beautiful Ivory Satin Center Band Ribbon and tied a bow. The sentiment is from the new Sale-a-bration set called Outlined Occasions.
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the Ribbon Carousel Paper Piecing challenge and secondly, the Colour Q colour challenge and finally, the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches
Thanks for dropping by!

Sale-a-bration Everyday Enchantment and I create Valentines Day Cards

Ok, so Sale-a-bration is just under an hour away (excited?) And I wanted to share one more sneak peek before it goes live! Check back after midnight Australian EST to have a gander at the range of products you can get for FREE! I have used the beautiful new Designer Series Paper- Everyday Enchantment on both these cards...
This one uses some of my favourite things! It features a soft colour palette, watercolouring, tone on tone stamping, seam binding ribbon, and of course pretty patterned paper *swoon* I took my colours for the adorable The Greeting Farm girl from the patterned papers, and then built the card around her. I did quite a bit of sponging on this card, and tied a bow from the Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon. Love the co-ordination!
This card is fairly basic with a big wow factore. I have used stamps from Vintage Vogue and French Foliage on the bold coloured pieces, and sponged the edges. The sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo (I believe) and makes me smile every time. I really wanted to make the patterned paper the star of this card, as the pattern is oh so pretty! I'm loving this colour combo too, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.
Thanks for dropping around, come back in a little while to see the Sale-a-bration catalogue, with the goodies you can receive Free after a $100 purchase!

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Sneak Peek Everyday Enchantments and Friendly Phrases

Hi guys! I have a couple of cute projects to share with you today. First up is a desk calendar
And, there is a matching card! This is super unlike me, I don't usually make anything so matchy matchy...
So, these are made with the same "ingredients", Poppy Parade card bases, Everyday Enchantments Designer Series Paper (A sneak peek at Sale-a-bration 2012!), Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, Beautiful Wings Embossolits and the stamp set I used is Friendly Phrases. The designer series paper is absolutely to die for! I looked at it in the Sale-a-bration catalogue, and I didn't particularly like it, the colours seemed a bit weird together, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede. But, when I saw it in real life, it exceeded my expectations!
So, how do you get the Everyday Enchantments Designer Series Paper? Well, just spend $100 between the 24th January 2012 - 31st March 2012, and you can receive it for free! It is limited release, so once Sale-a-bration is over, it's gone for good! So, get out your wishlists, and let me know if there is anything I can help you with!

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration So Happy For You makes fun Birthday Cards

Hi all,
I have something crafty to show you after a short hiatus. I have a male friends birthday coming up, so I needed to make a card.
Now, this isn't a typically male card, but I think my friend will like it. I have used a few inspiration spots for this one, the first being the colour challenge over at Just Add Ink, the masculine challenge over at Less is More, and the birthday challenge over at SUOnly (which was incidental). I used the Sale-a-bration set So Happy for You, and stamped the star image using Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry. I embossed the bottom half of the card using the Big Shot, and stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry, a little bit of Whisper White Grosgrain finishes this card off.
Don't forget, you have 1 week left to get this stamp set for free! All you need to do is spend $100 or more, and you get to pick one of the Sale-a-bration sets for FREE, so, it's time to fish out your wishlists and get ordering! Call me on 0405 173 237 or shoot me an email
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Sweet Summer and I create a Friendship Card

Hi again,
I really wanted to head back into the craft room today, as I have the day off of work, and the newest Just Add Ink challenge has been issued..... Here is my card to start with....
The challenge this week at JAI, is a sketch challenge, a fairly versatile sketch.... I knew I wanted bright colours, and I wanted to use more Daffodil Delight... It's my favourite colour, yet I don't use it very often, because it has a tendency to over power all other colours... I used the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Sweet Summer, and coloured the images using my Stampin' Write markers....  I'm really happy with how bright and fun this card is... I think it is very summery, and happy...
Thanks for looking, and Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Sweet Summer and I create a Mothers Day Card

Hi all, I'm back again with another card from my play day with Kim, this time, I cracked out the sale-a-bration set, Sweet Summer, and had a play. I have only just received this set, and I love it!
I coloured the little blossoms with my Stampin' Write Markers, added a thin strip of Blushing bride and white satin ribbon, stamped a mothers day sentiment, and called it done.... I am entering this into the Less is More challenge, which was Pastels this week. I think it fits the bill....  Unfortunately, I was too late to upload it... so, I will just leave it....
Don't forget, you have under 3 weeks to get your hands on this stamp set for free! Just click here to find out more.
Thanks for looking, and happy stamping!

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration set Punch Bunch and I create Mothers Day Cards

Hi all! Back again with another card to share with you all
Out of the Sale-a-bration set Punch Bunch, I thought I'd use the owl most often, but funnily enough, I haven't. It's been this pretty poppy image that I keep reaching for. I have made this card to join my growing stash of Mothers Day Cards For the Troops that I have been putting together. As usual, I used a few challenges to get me started. The Less is More challenge this week is Pastels (I cringed a little), but had to play anyway.... Next up was the SUOnly Challenge which was to use anything Sale-a-bration, so Punch Bunch got used :-)
The last challenge I am entering this into, is the Stamping Vacation You name the challenge, which is to link up a card that is connected to another challenge.... So, here we are...
The recipe for this card-
Ink - Bashful Blue, Certain Celery, Cherry Cobbler (stamped off)
Cardstock- Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla and Crumbcake
Ribbon- Retired SU! Bashful Blue stitched Grosgrain.
Punch- Circle Punch and Scallop Circle
Thanks for looking, and Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Party This Way, makes fun birthday cards

Hi Again!
I have a card to show you all utilising one of the fun stamp sets in my collection! Party This Way. This was a stamp set I bought on a whim.... mainly for the fun candle image.... But, I don't use it all that often... So, I vowed to dust it off and have a play....

I have used the scallop square from the Sale-a-bration stamp set Punch Bunch, but because I don't actually own the punch, I sat with my scissors and cut around those scallops by hand!
I used the colours from the Colour Q Challenge, which I was daunted by to start with, but once I started, I loved them together!
Tune in later to find another card, which is very similar... but uses a different stamp set!
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Circle Scissors, Circle Easel Card

Back again with another card. This one was a first time for me... I've never made an easel card... ever... Until tonight. It took me a whole lot longer than I'd like to admit....
This was extremely difficult for me... Even though, I had a sketch and a recipe to go off of... I couldn't get it working right for me... I ended up not hating this (which believe me, was an improvement...) I used my circle scissors, from Stampin' Up!, cut all my circles out using that.... then tried to figure out what I wanted on the main panel.... should have been easy considering I was using the Mojo Monday sketch, and the Stamping Vacation Pick 3 challenge (which I picked tearing, buttons and white gel pen.)
I think what I found most difficult about this was, I didn't go into my craft room knowing what I wanted to use or even the colour combination, which makes me sit and stamp a bunch of different things until I find something that falls into place. I will definitely have to try this again, when I have a solid idea of what I want in my head!
Happy Stamping!

Sale-a-bration Stamp Set Punch Bunch, For You Card

Hi all,
Welcome back.... I have another card to show you, which is another Clean and Simple Card....
I was surprised after seeing the challenge colours from Just Add Ink this week, that I came up with two cards that I liked... It was a daunting colour challenge, using River Rock, Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler.
I used the Sale-a-bration Stamp Set Punch Bunch for this card, I coloured the image with my Stampin' Write Markers (directly onto the stamp) then stamped it on some Whisper White before punching it with my circle punch and layering it on the scallop circle. In the centres on the poppies, I did coloured in some yellow, and then got a fine tipped black pen, and drew in some 'stamen' I also added some shadowing using the small end of my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Marker.
If you would like to get the Punch Bunch Stamp set for FREE, email me or give me a call on 0405 173 237 to find out how today!
Until next time, Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue and Bliss are so elegant together!

This is another card from my craft day with Kim. This one is inspiration from Kim, who picked out the colours, and the use of the Bliss flourish (which is elegant by itself!), I decided to pair it with the flowers from Vintage Vogue to give it some more interest...
I've tried for shabby chic with the distressing on this card. It doesn't seem to matter what stamp sets I use, as soon as I see Sahara Sand, Baja Breeze and Choc Chip together, I think elegance...
The second card I want to show you, again uses that pretty flourish from Sale-a-bration stamp set Bliss....
This is using Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz, and was made for the Mojo Monday Sketch. I love the idea of placing that butterfly on any flourish, as they work so perfectly together!
If you would like to learn how to receive this stamp set for FREE, click this link, send me an email, or give me a call on 0405 173 237.

Stampin' Up Scallop Punch Art Roses - Tutorial

I have been in the craft room again this afternoon... Creating something that isn't so clean and simple!
Are you surprised?
I created this for the CR84FN Colour Challenge, which was to use Pale Pink, Medium Violet and Gray.
I have also put together a tutorial for you, on how to make the very cute little roses....These are easy to make, but are a little fiddly...
  1. Supplies- Scrap Card stock 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Scissors, pencil, strong tape or glue, and a bone folder.
  2. Punch out a scallop circle, drag it across the bone folder a few times to make it easier to roll.
  3. Draw a swirl on the scallop circle.
  4. Cut on the line of your swirl.
  5. Starting in the middle, start rolling the cut piece in on itself.
  6. Once you have gotten to the end, let it spring open a little. You can leave it fairly tight, or loose, which ever look you prefer
  7. Put a small amount of tape or glue on the loose tail, hold in place.
  8. I have pushed the outer petals out a little to give a little more definition, then you're done!
I hope this tutorial has helped, and was easy to follow, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to post a comment, or email me
Happy Stamping!
