Stampin' Up! Friends Never Fade

Hiya! I have another card to share today, that doesn't feature my coloured people stamps!!! I'm trying to re-broaden my crafty horizons, and stretch myself a bit... So, here it is -
I started with a plain piece of Very Vanilla card, faintly drew a curving line, and stamped the flower images from Friends Never Fade, and the circle from Just Believe, in a range of inks - Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, Wisteria Wonder and Rich Razzleberry. I then zig zag stitched around the edge, and embossed another piece of Vanilla, and attached it. The main image panel is the "sentiment stamp" from Friends Never Fade, and I have cut around it. To finish off the card, I used a bit of stickles on the main image panel, the last Razzleberry flower on the right and the first Wisteria flower on the left.
Here is a close up -
I was inspired by the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger, and took the colours, texture, stitching and theme of flowers/circles. The Tuesday Morning Sketches had me thrown for a bit, but I think I've made it work, with a rotation... And, to top it all off, I'm popping this into the Anything Goes Linky at Simon Says Stamp
I have popped a few cards into my Madeit Store, as well as keeping everyone updated on my Facebook Page (check to see if you're the giveaway winner!)

Feeling Sketchy 6 - Card Sketch - Some Odd Girl

Hi guys! I'm back again with this weeks Feeling Sketchy post, and this is the first week of the new month, which means we've got a new sponsor! MMT Scrapbooking has donated a wonderful prize pack, up to the value of $25! Here is the sketch we're playing with this week -

I actually struggled a bit with this one, but I think it's because my mojo has been non-existant! Here is my card though -
Sorry about the TERRIBLE photo!
This Some Odd Girl is Gifty Gwen and she's been sitting in my box of coloured images for a couple of weeks, waiting to make it onto a card.... I used an Always Artichoke card base, layered up with Vanilla card and patterned papers from My Minds Eye (both retired collections) I then popped Gwen up using a bunch of dimensionals and then, decided it need a sentiment, so stamped Just for You in Versamark and embossed it using some pretty Zing Gold Metallic Embossing Powder.

Some Odd Girl - Gifty Gwen and I make a For You Card

Hi guys! Sorry I have been a terrible blogger lately... I've been quite busy house hunting and working. So, I haven't had a lot of time in the craft room, and when I've been in there, my mojo has gone walk a bouts... I did get a flash of mojo this afternoon though and created this card -
This is a Daffodil Delight (Über bright!) and layered it with Basic Gray and some fun, ticket patterned paper from My Minds Eye Dilly Dally 6x6 paper pad. I then set to colouring Gifty Gwen (The Stamp Spot stocks a range of Some Odd girls!) I coloured her with my Stampin' Write Markers, and a blender pen, cut her out and added her to some white card with some foam dimensionals. I tied a Island Indigo bow around the white card and layered it onto some Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray card. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up, and finished off the card with some bright red rhinestones.
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Ribbon Carousel Challenge, which this week was to use bright colours.... Surprisingly, I really struggled with this.... I think it's the lack of mojo! And next up is the Card Patterns Sketch which I put extra layers on... I'm not usually an excess layer person, at all!
Thanks for dropping by!

Some Odd Girl

Hello! I have my DT post for The Stamp Spot going live today! Here is my card -
I started off with a Vanilla Cream card base, layered it up with some Lavender card stock and a piece of Eskimo Kisses patterned paper by Basic Grey. I stitched the patterned paper to the Lavendar with my sewing machine and white thread. I then layered up a MFT Die-namics woodgrain embossed fence in Kraft card and some pretty Herringbone Ribbon. The image is the Some Odd GirlsSmell the Flowers Tia and has been coloured using watercolour markers before being cut out with my Nesties. I added some Stickles to her barrette and the flower centres. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up from Just Believe stamp set. Behind the Kaisercraft paper flowers, I have cut out some leaves using this die. I added some plain silver rhinestones to finish off the sentiment, and the card.
This card fits all the criteria for this months challenge - Brown, Ovals and Stitching.  I love the different interpretations of this challenge, as none of them are even remotely similar! I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Stampin' Up! Just Believe and I create a Birthday Card

Busy day in the craft room! I have another card to share with you :)
Another clean and simple card... I have used a Crumbcake (Kraft) card base, and sponged the edges in Crumbcake ink. For the main image panel, it is a piece of Riding Hood Red, Mustard Patterned Paper, and a piece of Old Olive. The mustard piece had a circle mask placed over the top, and I sponged More Mustard ink over it. The Olive piece has a touch of sponging on it too. I then attached them all together and stamped the flower silhouette from Just Believe in Black StazOn. I attached them all to a piece of Confetti White Card stock, which I had stamped with a sentiment from KaiserCraft, and then they were attached to the card base. I added three little black pearls, and called this card done :)
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the sketch from CAS-ual Fridays, next up is the colour combo from ColourQ and finally into the Simon Says Stamp anything goes challenge.

Stampin' Up! Watercolouring using Stampin' Write Markers, and Just Believe create an Alice in Wonderland Inspired Card

Yup, that's one long saga of a title... But, I think it describes this card perfectly...
Ok, so I started off this card using the head from one The Greeting Farm stamp, and the body of another, I stamped them on Stampin' Up! Watercolour paper, and coloured them both using my Stampin' Write Markers a blender pen and one ink pad. (If you would like the list of colours, please just comment and I will update this post) I then spent ages looking through my stash for an appropriate patterned paper, turns out, I need to expand my collection of blue papers... I found this one, while not quite what I wanted pattern wise, was the right colour I was looking for. It is from a stack I split with my mum ages ago, so I can't tell you who it's by. I punched out a strip of Bashful Blue using the scallop border punch and layered it on either side. Before gluing it in place, I ran a piece of white Seam Binding Ribbon around it, and tied a double bow. I picked out the sentiment from Just Believe, as I thought it was a perfect match for Alice... I stamped it in Marina Mist, and cut it out using the decorative label punch.
You know those cards that turn out better than you could have imagined? Well, for me, this was one of them... I keep looking at it, and thinking about the Alice in Wonderland book, which is one of my favourites... (the original, by Lewis Carroll.)
Anyway, I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Freshly Made Sketches challenge, yes, my card is a fairly loose interpretation of the challenge, but I hope you can still see the resemblance. The second challenge is the Simon Says Stamp inspired by nursery rhymes and fairy tales challenge.
Thanks for dropping by :)
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up!'s newest In Colour Island Indigo is Divine!

Hi Guys, I have had a really bad week mojo wise, nothing is appealing to me, at all! I think it is because I've not been feeling 100% and that I've been really busy... Tonight, I needed to get into the craft room and create, I was going stir crazy! Here is the fairly clean and simple card I came up with
The image is from The Greeting Farm, I've had this little guys head coloured in for a few days, just nowhere to put him.. I coloured him using my Stampin' Write Markers and a blender pen. I stamped his body onto a piece of white and also two patterned papers from My Minds Eye, cut them out, and layered them on to the stamped image. The sentiment is from Just Believe, and has also been stamped using my Stampin' Write Marker, I selectively coloured the For You, and left the Just off this one. I layered the image panel onto Crumbcake, and mounted it on dimensionals to an Island Indigo card base. I threaded some retired Kiwi Kiss ribbon underneath the image and tied a bow.
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is a new one for me, the OWH Stars and Stamp Sketch challenge, which was surprisingly very similar to The Paper Players Sketch. I am also entering this into The Pink Elephant paper piecing challenge.
Thanks for dropping by,
Don't forget, that the new catalogue is launched very soon (Thursday) so, pop back then and have a looksee!

Stampin' Up! Just Believe and I create a sweet Friendship card

I made a card that wasn't a total struggle! YAY!
This is a Crumbcake base layered with Daffodil Delight Patterns Designer Series Paper stamped the image from Just Believe in Crumbcake and layered some scalloped border in white and Daffodil Delight (am I the only one that noticed that rhymed?) I then stamped the frame in Daffodil and stamped the sentiment, Friends in Crumbcake. I stamped the frame once more on Crumbcake and cut it out and used some pop dots to layer it over some yellow and white Bakers Twine. A bit of faux stitching and some distressing finished off this card!
I am entering this into three challenges.... The first one is the Card Patterns sketch (below), the second is the CR84FN colour challenge, one I really enjoyed (below again) then the Dream Valley Challenge which is to use distressing...
Thanks for popping in, I'm so happy that I created, and it came easily! So, pop into these challenges, and have a go!
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Easter Blooms and Just Believe paired to make a For You card

Hi again! It's my second week of being on the Just Add Ink design team, being a guest designer. This week it is a sketch challenge, and this one had me hugely inspired!

Ok, so this card is a Basic Grey card base that has been cut down on one side, and layered with Whisper White. I have stamped the Cherry Blossom image from Easter Blooms in Basic Grey, and then I coloured the flowers in with Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink and the leaves with Certainly Celery. I have pierced the card base and sewn on a retired Basic Grey Corduroy button with some bakers twine. Then on the other piece, while I was sewing on the button, I left a tail, so that it can be wrapped around the other button. Sorry, that's a really bad description, but I hope the pictures help!
Here is the Just Add Ink sketch... Don't forget to check out what the other designers have created, and I hope this inspires you to create something too!
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up Brayering 1st Try!

Hi guys, I don't have a card for you this evening, but I do have something cool to show you. After spending the day in study mode, I rewarded myself with a play of my newest toy... A brayer. I have seen beautiful work done with brayers, but this is the first time I've held one, let alone ink it up!
Ok, so this isn't perfect, not by any stretch of the imagination, but for a first try and lots of googling... I think it turned out ok. I started with So Saffron, then Peach Parfait and then finally a small amount of Poppy Parade. I then stamped the 'weed' image from Just Believe in Basic Black and sponged a little Basic Black around the base.
Any hints or tips would be much appreciated!

Stampin' Up! Just Believe and I create Thank You cards

I'm back, two posts in two days! Are you in shock? I actually sat and struggled with this card, throwing out a whole bunch of Top Note die cuts....
This card uses a Crumbcake card base which I have layered some Rose Red which has been spritzed using a mixture of Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol and stamped using the So Swirly Wheel, the sentiment is stamped in Rose Red, and is from the Hostess Set Because I Care. The Perfect Plum frame has been stamped with the So Swirly Wheel as well and has some dimensionals behind it.The ribbon is something really fun on this card, I wanted Crumbcake coloured ribbon, but only had Very Vanilla, so I got out my reinker, and popped a few drops mixed with rubbing alcohol and I dragged the ribbon through it, I heat set it using my heat tool. The main image is from Just Believe and has been stamped using my Stampin' Write Markers in Rose Red and Certainly Celery. I have cut out 3 little butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embossolit and glued them down, I have then added some faux stitching to finish off this card.
I am entering this into a couple of challenges, the first is the Stamping 411 sketch challenge, then the Inkspirations colour combination, the Simon Says Stamp anything goes challenge and finally the Moxie Fab World botanical challenge.
Anyway, it is my bed time!
Goodnight, and Happy Stamping

Stampin' Up! Just Believe and Silhouette Sentiments create lovely Thank You cards

Hi guys! I have a quick card to share with you today, before I pop it in the mail to go to a special someone!
For this card, I have used Confetti White cardstock (my new go to card) I have masked a strip using post it notes, then with some sponges and my Stampin' Up! Inks, I have created this background. The colours are layered lightest to darkest, starting with Bashful Blue, then Baja Breeze, Pacific Point and a little bit of Night of Navy. While the masks were still in place, I stamped the leaf image from Just Believe in Basic Black, stamping off some of the images to get a fuller shrub line.... Once I'd done that, I peeled off the masks and stamped the bird from the hostess set Silhouette Sentiments in Staz On Black for a deeper black (sounds weird I know) and then I stamped the sentiment below the image panel. The sentiment is one of the cute ones from Just Believe. Now, I am going to write in this card, address it, and send it on its way.
I am entering this in to two challenges, the first being Just Add Ink's Inspiration Challenge (see below) and the Less is More One Layer "Legs" Challenge.
I know I've seen a card out there very similar to this one, but silly me forgot to bookmark it, so if this is very similar to a card you have made, I apologise, but I can't find out who it was now that I was going to mention I cased this from.
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Just Believe and I create a cute Thank You card

Hi again! I know I have been quiet... I have been busy again this past week... June and July are apparently really busy months for me... I have crafted again though!
I have made this little card, and was unsure if I liked it or not... But, now that I'm looking at it again, I really do like it. The base is Riding Hood Red, which has been layered with a piece of Designer Series Paper that has been in my stash FOREVER! I have used the direct to stamp Stampin' Write Marker Technique on this lovely grass feature from Just Believe, in Riding Hood Red and Wild Wasabi. The sentiment and frame have been stamped using the same technique and stamp set. I have then cut out the frame very carefully and popped it up on dimensionals.
I really like this stamp set, and it is one I have been lusting over for quite some time, so to get it recently was very exciting.... I am entering this into two challenges... The first is the Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge, the second is the Color Throwdown Challenge.
Thanks for dropping by,
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Just Believe and I create For You Cards

Hi all! I had a wonderful coffee catch up with some friends today, and when I arrived home, I realised I hadn't posted this card yet....
This uses one of my favourite sets from the Catalogue, one which I don't actually own just yet. I asked my friend Sue to bring it around when we had a craft day with Kim last week.  This is one of those stamp sets that I have seen so much done with, but every time I go to order it, its place gets taken by something else I need on the list. My card is fairly basic, but I think packs quite a punch. The base is Crumbcake, followed by Tempting Turquoise which has been stamped tone on tone with the circle element of Just Believe, then I have layered a torn piece of Perfect Plum stamped with the leaf image, tone on tone again. My main image is the grass and flower mix, which I have coloured using my Stampin' Write Markers using the direct to stamp method. I have used Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum and Tempting Turquoise, stamped on to a piece of torn Very Vanilla. The sentiment is from the same set, and punched using the Decorative Label Punch in a new way. I have punched it again in Rose Red and layered them on top of each other, and popped using some Dimensionals.
I am super happy with how this card turned out, and will definitely be buying it in my next order. Over the coming few days, you may see some changes taking place on this blog, as I tweak it a little, so if you arrive and it looks odd, that's why....
Until next time,
Happy Stamping!
