Some Odd Girls - Spectrum Noir Hair Tutorial

I thought I'd drop in with a quick tutorial on how I colour hair using my Spectrum Noir Markers!
I am using the Photo Kaylee Stamp from Some Odd Girl. I used three colours, GB10, GB8 and EB2....
I started with GB10 and laid it down in the parts that I wanted the darkest.
Next, I laid down the GB8 over the top of the GB10 and dragged some of the darker colour towards the middle.
Then came the EB2 which was layered over the other two colours, and dragged towards the empty space. I tend to leave small sections uncoloured, to let the white card stock show through, to add 'shine' to the hair as highlights...
Here is the finished hair... And, the finished image -
Ok, so I cut her all out and popped her on a card -
I used patterned papers from Echo Park, a piece of gathered ribbon, and some paper flowers, and a pin with a piece of twine tied in a bow. The main image panel has a border cut using the MFT Die-namics, Open Bracket Die. The sentiment is from the Photo Kaylee stamp set, and has a few pearls surrounding it... :)
Here is a close up -
I am entering this into the De-constructed sketch challenge, number 62. It's a little difficult to tell, but the sketch is in there. I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge
Deconstructed Sketch No. 62
Hope you liked my tutorial :)

Kraftin' Kimmie Tinkerbell

Hi guys! I have a card to share, that I made last night... I have a secret as to what gets my craft mojo back... I just make a scrapbook page, and then I go back to cards, and everything just falls into place.... Here is the card I made -
Meet Tinkerbell, I was lucky enough to win this stamp from the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog, from one of their challenges... It arrived yesterday, so I knew I had to get it out and play! I stamped her on Blending card, on Vellum and on some Kaisercraft patterned paper. I paper pieced her outfit, and her wings, and coloured the rest of her up with my Spectrum Noir Markers and fussy cut her out. I assembled the patterned papers (all from my scrap drawer, I think two are Kaisercraft and the aqua one is Crate Paper, which I stamped with the En Francais stamp and White ink)  I layered them all up on white card stock, and stitched around them using a zig zag stitch on my sewing machine. I then layered them all on to some light pink card for the base. The main image circle was cut out using my Big Shot and nesting circles and the glittered scallop circle was cut the same way. I tied a white satin ribbon bow, and attached it using my hot glue gun... I also added a cluster of paper flowers and a hat pin, which I have bent back up on itself so it's not poking off of the card. I added some mint rhinestones in her hair clip and off of the dangly part of her belt...
I am entering this into three challenges, the first is the sketch for Mojo Monday, next up is to use Stitching for Kraftin' Kimmie and I used the colours from The Playdate Cafe challenge.

Feeling Sketchy - Christmas Card with Gorjuss Girls

Hi again! Three posts in Three days! Wooh! Today's post is my DT post for Feeling Sketchy, we have a fun sketch this week -
This one was a lot of fun to play with here is my interpretation - I needed to make a card for a Kris Kringle/ Secret Santa for Christmas in July... So, I cracked out some red and green-
I coloured up this GorJuss Stamp using my Spectrum Noir markers and paper pieced her dress with paper from Cosmo Cricket. Once she was all coloured, I fussy cut it out and set it aside to make my card. I used a Real Red card base, layered up with some Kraft which had been run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder, swiped with White Craft ink, to get ink in the depressions. I then layered some ribbon on top and stitched around the edges, before attaching it to my card base. I popped GorJuss on to the ribbon using foam adhesives and added 5 little rhinestones to finish off the card.
Don't forget to pop over to the Feeling Sketchy Blog and link up your creations :)
Thanks for dropping by!

Feeling Sketchy and Some Odd Girl

Hi guys! I'm late posting my DT card for Feeling Sketchy today, because I overslept... But, it's here....
I started off with my Hey Kaylee stamp set which I stamped and coloured using my Spectrum Noir Markers, I used this tutorial on youtube to get my shading just how I wanted.
It has made me look at my markers in a whole new light! If you're a recent convert to Spectrums and want them to blend more easily, this is the tutorial for you! :) Anyway, back to the card..... I fussy cut her out and then popped her on dimensionals onto a Spellbinders Label 4 die cut. Next up was building my card. I used patterned paper from My Minds Eye and my sewing machine to attach them together. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Kindness Matters stamp set, and I have stamped it using Craft White Ink to make it pop on the Kraft cardstock. I layered the patterned papers on to the Kraft card base and added some bling to finish it off.
This is the feeling sketchy week 11 sketch -
Pop on over and have a play :)

Spectrum Noir Markers in Monochrome and Sarah Kay Stamps

I stamped my Sarah Kay Picnic of Daisies in Memento Black Ink  and coloured her up using all 6 of the colours from the Cool Greys Marker Pack. The great thing I found with these markers is you can start with either the lightest or darkest colour and are able to blend them together by going back over them with the lightest marker (I don't know if that made any sense... hehe) I fussy cut her out at then attached her to a vanilla Spellbinders Label 10 which I had pierced around the edges using a needle. I then set to making my card, I started with a Grey card base and layered it up with some divine patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket, Baby Jane paper pad. I stitched all around the edges, added a strip of silver/grey grosgrain ribbon, then with my hot glue gun, attached three paper flowers and a yellow button. I finished off this card without a sentiment, but added three little mint green rhinestones to balance it all out :)
This card fits the requirements of this months challenge, yellow, grosgrain ribbon and buttons -

Some Odd Girl

Hello! I have my DT post for The Stamp Spot going live today! Here is my card -
I started off with a Vanilla Cream card base, layered it up with some Lavender card stock and a piece of Eskimo Kisses patterned paper by Basic Grey. I stitched the patterned paper to the Lavendar with my sewing machine and white thread. I then layered up a MFT Die-namics woodgrain embossed fence in Kraft card and some pretty Herringbone Ribbon. The image is the Some Odd GirlsSmell the Flowers Tia and has been coloured using watercolour markers before being cut out with my Nesties. I added some Stickles to her barrette and the flower centres. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up from Just Believe stamp set. Behind the Kaisercraft paper flowers, I have cut out some leaves using this die. I added some plain silver rhinestones to finish off the sentiment, and the card.
This card fits all the criteria for this months challenge - Brown, Ovals and Stitching.  I love the different interpretations of this challenge, as none of them are even remotely similar! I can't wait to see what you do with it!
