Stampin' Up! Sail Away and I create masculine birthday cards

One of the stamps in Stampin' Up!'s Winter Mini Catalogue really appealed to me. It is an A la Carte stamp, (single stamp), Sail Away, and at only $14.95, I just had to add it to my collection
It actually arrived in my order on Thursday, but I hadn't had a chance to play with it... So, this morning, between coffees, I whipped up this one layered card. I have used the Sail Away stamp, and my Stampin' Up! Chalks, in So Saffron, retired colours Brocade Blue, Brilliant Blue and Taken with Teal. I love my Stampin' Up! Chalks to create really nice blended back grounds. I find with male cards, it is best to keep the design minimalist, so, I have left this card fairly plain. The sentiment is from Trendy Trees which has the cutest plain sayings.
If you would like any of the items from the Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue, please, do not hesitate to send me an email or call me on 0405 173 237
Until next time, Happy Stamping!

Silhouette Sentiments Card

Hi all!.
Last night after the disaster of a card, I tried to sleep, but couldn't so, I got back up and had another play with my craft stuff. By this stage, the newest ColourQ Challenge had gone up....
What a doozy.... I cringed when I saw more melon mambo with tangerine tango.... my dislike of pink and orange is quite strong! Anyway, I've been looking at different ways to use the hostess set, Silhouette Sentiments, as I feel it doesn't get used enough.... So, I went to SplitCoastStampers and had a look around. I found this card by Laurie, which just has an absolute Wow! factor to it....
So, I cased it.... fairly blatantly too....
Here is my CASE of Laurie's card -
I love how this card turned out! I also have another card to show you, which I was asked to make by a friend. She needed a baby girl card, that included butterflies.... So, I Cased one of my cards from earlier, and remade it in pinks and purples.
Anyway, that is all I have to show you on the card front.
I want to leave this link here for you guys in case you were wondering what you can do to help the victims of the QLD flooding. I have donated a small amount, but every little bit counts I guess. So, head on over to the QLD government website, and donate as much as you can, to help the people of Queensland out....

Colour Challenge Cards

Feels like a while since I posted anything, but in retrospect it has only been 3 days... I have been crafting though... I have made four cards. I made two on Friday night, one I'm not going to share, because I really don't like it... the other is this one for the Moxie Fab World Gray is the new Black Challenge.
I used a retired colour with this card, one I didn't even know I owned... Taken with Teal. I have paired it with Basic Grey, Whisper white and vellum. There was supposed to be another rhinestone, but it fell off somewhere.... "hmmm..."
The next two cards, I created last night, they are also for colour challenges.
The first of the two is for the Just Add Ink colour challenge,
I found that I sat looking at these colours together for a long time before deciding on something... When I did decide, it was to make a card that Danielle Daws had a tutorial for on UStamp. I loved the simplicity of the card she created, and the wow factor that went along with it.... so here is my interpretation
The last card I have to show you is for the Inkspirations most recent colour challenge, which is another doozy...
This is a colour combo I had massive issues with! I'm not a huge fan of Peach Parfait, or Orange in general.... The card I'm not showing you was made with this colour combo... Anyway, here is the card for this challenge
As you can see, I've fallen back into my safe colour of Kraft/Crumbcake... If all else fails, pull out the crumbcake....
