Feeling Sketchy Week 18 Scrapbook Sketch

Hi guys! I'm sorry I'm late posting this weeks Feeling Sketchy DT post, but only got home from my parents place about an hour ago.... This week was another scrap sketch, although, you can do a card if you choose... here is the sketch-
F-Sketchy 18 Scrapbook
This week is your last chance to get your name in the draw for the prize package from Sparkle Creations! Here is my take on the sketch -
These are some pictures my mum took of Sam, my nephew, when she was baby sitting him, and they painted... One of his paintings is actually behind the photos. I wanted to keep this layout fairly clean and simple, and let his happiness and art shine through. I mounted the painting on some black cardstock, and then onto a white 12x12 card base and then attached the photos. The embellishments for this page are chipboard birds that I have covered in some scrap patterned paper that matched the colours of his painting -
Below the photos, I added another strip of Black cardstock, and some stickers from Kaisercraft to create a border. The title is created using some dies, black cardstock and tape, as well as some American Craft Thickers.
This birdy at the top looked a little lonesome, so he got a caged friend, in a metal embellishment. Once I'd stuck everything down, I sat looking at the page a while and decided it needed some stitching around the whole project... Not happy with just straight stitch or just zig zag, I mixed it up, and used both...
Apart from entering this into the Feeling Sketchy Challenge as an inspiration piece, I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge
