From the Heart - Digital Stamps - Masculine Birthday Card

Hi Hi! You may not see much in the next two weeks, as I've just started my first prac for my teaching degree (yay!) I did craft last night, and Saturday night though...

 

I started by printing a newly acquired digital stamp, from From the Heart Stamps, and colouring it up using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I then trimmed it out, and set it aside. The patterned papers on this card are a bit of a mix, with Authentique, Kaisercraft and Echo Park. I trimmed them down, mounted them on white card, and of course doodled some borders around them. I added two eyelets to the Echo Park paper, and a trio of buttons, the largest of which has a twine bow.

Heya! I've been busy promoting a bunch of madeit stores over on my facebook page today, just in time for Christmas! The handmade community is wonderful, and we're sharing the love using the hashtag #madeitchristmas 

Anyway, on to my card for today!

I started out grabbing this tropical santa (perfect for us in Australia!) I coloured him up, using my Spectrum Noir Markers, and die-cut him out... I grabbed some patterned papers from my stash, Authentique, Cosmo Cricket and some Echo Park. I die cut the red piece, and doodled all around the edges. The sentiment comes from Stampin' Up!

Masculine Birthday Card - No Colouring!

Hi guys! I made another card the other night, for a friends birthday.... 

I wanted to make a card that wasn't overly "cutesy" as it was for a male friend, and didn't want it to be too over the top either... 

Here is the outcome -

I started out, going through my stash of 6x6 patterned papers, and selecting a few that went ok together... Starting from the top, we've got Sn@p, 24/Seven, then Authentique, then the orange-y one is by Kaisercraft, and is the Homemade collection. I used a piece of white, confetti cardstock in the middle, before repeating the papers down the page again. I looped some black grosgrain ribbon around the side, before attaching a bow, with a button, and a twine bow tied through the holes. I then stamped my sentiment, which is made up using The Alley Way Stamps, Jibber Jabber set. I stamped it using the rock and roll technique, using two shades of orange ink.
The rock and roll technique is simple, dab your stamp in the lighter colour first, than either rock the edge (or roll, depending on how you want it to blend) into the second ink. I just rocked the bottom edge slightly into my darker ink. I then pressed it down on to a piece of Confetti card, and die cut a circle. 

I added a trio of sequins to the bottom right corner of the card, and added an arrow paper clip, from Freckled Fawn to the sentiment circle, to finish the card off...

New Mum card - The Greeting Farm

Hi guys! I'm back today to share a New Baby/New Mum card I made up last night...  Here it is  -

I started off colouring up this cute pregnant chicky using my Spectrum Noir Markers, and then trimmed her out. I built my card up using patterned papers from Authentique and Teresa Collins 6x6 paper pads, and a bunch of doodling with a felt tip pen. I stamped the sentiments, from Some Odd Girl and The Alley Way stamps using Stampin' Up! Inks. Here is a close up! 

I am entering this into two The Greeting Farm challenges, the first is the FFF Favourite Movie Challenge, one of my favourite movies is Juno, and I've taken inspiration from this movie poster of it -

The Greeting Farm - Tag/Gift

Hi! I'm quickly sharing a tag I made to send to my friend Annmaree for her birthday! It goes with the present in the pic... shhh...

I stamped two different stamps, Boho Anya, and Wild Sprouts Daisy and coloured them up using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I then cut the head from Boho Anya, and transferred her to the body of Daisy. I think she looks sweet! I used patterned papers from Authentique and My Minds Eye. I added a bunch of doodling...  

I am entering this into two challenges... The first is the Splendid Stamping, anything But a card challenge, and the Anyone for Anya Inspiration picture. 

Cuddle Anya - Thank You Card

Hi again! Back to share a card I made today! :)

I started out picking my patterned papers, in this case, more My Minds Eye scrap that was sitting on my desk, and Authentique. I then stamped Cuddle Anya on some blender card stock, and her hat onto some Authentique paper. I coloured her up using my Spectrum Noir Markers and added shading to her hat. I then built my card using the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches as the inspiration. I then popped Anya up using a bunch of dimensionals, and stamped the sentiment, which is from Some Odd Girl on the spellbinders die. I'm also entering this over at Splendid Stamping - Pink Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Feeling Sketchy Week 24

Sorry it has been so quiet on the blog this last week, I've been quite busy at work, and not done much apart from sleeping when getting home. I did pull out some supplies though, and create this card for this weeks Feeling Sketchy sketch -

 and here is my card -

I used patterned paper from Authentique as well as Kaisercraft. The image is Whiff of Joy (I believe) and has been coloured up using my Spectrum Noir markers. I added some flowers that came free with a magazine, and left it fairly clean and simple. Pop over to the main blog and check out some more awesome DT inspiration

Some Odd Girl - Tutorial - Double Slider Card

Hello! I'm here today, with my post that's just gone live over on the Stamp Spot Blog

Ok, so for the Double Slider card, you will need 1 piece of cardstock, cut to 5.5 inches x 11 inches, two pieces of cardstock, or patterned paper, cut to 3.5 inches x 4 inches, double sided tape, scotch tape, a plastic shopping bag (the grocery kind) a ruler, a paper trimmer, and a small piece of ribbon. 

Ok, so on the piece of cardstock, score lines at - 2.5 inches, 6.5 inches and 10.5 inches.

Then, using your paper trimmer, or scissors, cut out a small notch on either side of the 2.5 inch piece so it looks like the piece below - 

Get your shopping bag, and cut a strip from it, around an inch wide. Wrap it around the 2.5 inch piece, where the notches have come out, tape the ends to each other, and trim so you don't have a whole lot hanging out. Make sure it is able to spin around the cardstock without too much difficulty. 

This next step, I forgot to take a photo of.... so, have a badly edited picture -

Then place the patterned paper you want to pop up at the top, making sure it all lines up. Turn over this piece and put tape at the top of the plastic bag, and put the patterned paper you want to appear at the base, make sure it lines up with the front one, and looks straight (ish) Attach ribbon pull to the top piece of patterned paper (at the back) 

The smallest scored piece of the 11inch long piece gets attached to the inside and it folds up to look like a card. Here is mine... 

The front, which I have decorated with Some Odd Girl - Hey Kaylee, which was stamped on X-Press It blending Paper and coloured using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I also paper pieced her dress, (wooh polka dots!) The sentiment strip is MFT Die-Namic's Sentiment Strips 

 Here is the card all pulled out. How adorable is the little turtle? He comes with the Hey Kaylee! Set!

I coloured him like normal, and then went back over him with the thin point of the Spectrum Noirs and added a whole bunch of dots to give him some added texture. He is sitting happily on some patterned paper that features Leaves.

The patterned paper all came from a paper pad by Authentique, the paper flowers are a mix of kaisercraft and non-name ones. The cute chipboard frame, is a Tiddleybitz piece from a frames set I picked up at the Newcastle Show.

Boho Anya - You Get Me.

Hello Again! Last night, after dinner, I decided I needed to craft again... So, I sat down and created this card

This is a More Mustard (SU!) card base which is slightly smaller than my regular sized base, which I have layered up with some patterned paper from My Minds Eye,  My Favorite Things and some left over blue patterned paper from Authentique. This little Anya, Boho Anya, has been stamped on to X-Press blender card and coloured up with my Spectrum Noir Markers, her entire outfit has been paper pieced! 

I think at this point, it is painfully obvious I need a life... lol..

I wrapped some really fun V Striped Twill ribbon around the blue section. 

I finished this card off with a sentiment from My Favourite Things and some doodling around the edges of the patterned paper...

Saturated Canary - Jules

Hi Again! I recently discovered Saturated Canary images, as digital stamps, and let me just say, I love them! I thought they would be more difficult to colour than they actually were..... here is my card using Jules

Isn't she just the sweetest thing you ever saw?! I coloured her using my Spectrum Noir Markers, and knew I wanted to match her up to some Authentique patterned papers that were left over from the card I made the other day. I embossed the white piece using the Polka Dots embossing folder from SU! I then cut a border out using a (new for me) MFT Die-namic {faux crochet border} using some glitter paper, to match her petticoats. I then looped some pink ruffled ribbon around the top of the border die, and adhered it to the back. The side panels were begging to have something added to them, so I went through my jar of buttons, and came up with some that matched (!!) and adhered them down. The big yellow one has got a little bit of  Ivory Jute Twine, which arrived in happy mail yesterday. I added two little pieces of bling as well, before adhering Jules using a bunch of dimensionals.

Some Odd Girl - Royal - Birthday Card

Hi guys, back again today (three days in a row!) with a card to share... I have been missing my stamps, and colouring recently... how sad is that??? Anyway, onto the card -

I knew I wanted to play with some new patterned paper, as one of the things I picked up from the Newcastle craft show was a couple of patterned paper pads. So, I picked out the yellow from Authentique, and the orange is from Simple Stories. I coloured up Royal using my Spectrum Noir markers, in greys and added a little bling to her eyes and her crown. I fussy cut her out, and layered her on a doily and a bingo card (which received a bit of distressing, and the glitter treatment) The sentiment is from the Royal stamp set from Some Odd Girl, and was cut out using a MFT die-namic. 

I am entering this into the August Sketch challenge over at Some Odd Girls, and I took colour inspiration from The Play Date Cafe.
