Birthday and Baby Cards

Hey guys! Sorry for the quietness on the old blog, I had a couple of days off of work, so decided to take a quick trip to my parents house... I spent Tuesday night there, and came home Wednesday afternoon. I've got two cards to share today!
I made this card, for a friend who recently had a baby girl. I used the digital stamp, from Saturated Canary, and coloured her up, using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I used patterned papers from Kaisercraft, and Echo Park, flowers from D-Lish and the sentiment is Hero Arts.
Here is the close up-
This second card, was made for my Best friend, who celebrated her birthday on Wednesday :) I used a Some Odd Girl image, papers from Echo Park, and Kaisercraft, and more loveliness from D-lish. I also used a star, from Freckled Fawn. The sentiment on this one is Stampin' Up!

Saturated Canary - Baby Girl Card

Hi Again!
I've had a fairly relaxing weekend, before work this week being super full on! I have also been kept busy with the journals in my store, going a bit nuts, in the lead up to Christmas! I have made a couple of new baby cards too... This one below has been added to my store recently too!
I started by picking out my patterned papers, which in this case are from American Crafts, and then grabbed my digital stamp, from Saturated Canary, and coloured her up. I used my spectrum noir markers, and then die-cut her out. I doodled around the borders, and added a sentiment from Stampin' Up, and added some really pretty lace, from Kaszazz.

New Baby Card - Saturated Canary

Hi Again! I've had a spate of requests for new baby cards recently... Everyone must be pregnant! So, I've been trying to keep up with the demand... Here is my latest -
I started out by printing the digi image from Saturated Canary, and colouring her up, using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I decided to make her dress purple, as it's not a colour I use very often... I then cut her out, using a spellbinders die, and built my card. I used patterned paper from Teresa Collins, and layered it up on white card, and doodled around the edges. I made pennant banners, using MFT die-namics and attached them behind the main image panel. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up, I went over it with a fine tipped pen, as it disappeared in to the print of the paper. I added some Kraft coloured seam binding ribbon and a doily, before attaching the card base. I felt it needed something extra, so dug through my resin roses, selected three, then to keep the purple theme, I attached 4 purple coloured gems as well.

Saturated Canary - Lovely Blank Card

Hiya! I have a card to share today, that I made the night before last, that is now zooming it's way to a wonderful family member for their birthday!
I started by printing out the Lovely digital stamp (currently on sale for this challenge!) and then, I picked out the paper I wanted to use... In this case, I picked out some PTI paper, that has some gold scattered leaves in it... I then coloured up Lovely, using my Spectrum Noir Markers, and die cut a spellbinders shape around her. I layered the patterned paper on white card, doodled around the edges with a SU! gold marker and popped some pretty gold ribbon down, and decided to add some dimension, using some flowers...
I've used a Prima red flower, some Kaisercraft paper blooms and a couple of tiny, resin roses....
Here is the close up...
I originally used the sketch from Monday Lunch time sketch, until I realised my ribbon was going the wrong way... I'm going to link it up anyway... and hope for the best!

Saturated Canary - Teen / Tween Birthday Card

Hi guys! I've got a teen or tween girl card to share today!
Here it is -
I started by stamping this rubber stamp, by Saturated Canary, and colouring her up using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I decided to colour her hair in purple, as she looks like a "free spirit" I then had to pick out my papers, I must admit, I don't have a big collection of purple papers... I don't particularly like using the colour purple, but really couldn't resist! I received some lovely papers from Gayatri from Handmade by G3 a little while ago, they are PTI, and had this fun purple spotted, and numbered piece in there, which went awesomely! I also used some yellow patterned paper from Sn@p and layered it all on white and Elegant Eggplant card stock. I then stamped a sentiment (maybe a Hero Arts one, I'm not sure... SORRY!) and a MFT speech bubble which I trimmed out and added some pearls, that I'd coloured with an alcohol marker to match the papers.
Here is the close up - I did some doodling on this chicky, with a white gel pen...

Saturated Canary - Birthday Card!

Hi guys! I've been quiet again, I know... I've been struggling to craft a bit, and I've not had a lot of energy recently... But, I'm back! I have a card I made the other night to share -
I started by printing a Saturated Canary digital image, and colouring her up using my Spectrum Noir Markers, and trimmed her down to fit in this fun faux polaroid frame... I then picked out my papers, from My Minds Eye and Sn@p, and doodling around the edges. I stamped the sentiment (from MFT) and added a couple of strips of pearls to the side. I mounted it all on Sahara Sand card, and then on to Vanilla card base. Here is the close up
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the Tuesday Morning Sketches weekly challenge, and also into the Saturated Canary Bright Colours challenge -

Saturated Canary - Thinking of You

Hi guys! We're rushing towards my surgery date of April 8, really quickly....
It's a little bit scary, but mostly, it's hugely exciting! Bring on my whole new life!!!
I have a card to share today...
.
This forlorn looking little girl is from Saturated Canary, I've stamped her on some Blender card, and coloured her up with my Spectrum Noir Markers, using a much lighter colour palette to what I'm used to! I then die cut a circle around her, and gave her a border, and shading, to suggest that she's outside... I used the "dot technique" to fill the space, without laying down lots of colour. I then proceeded to created my card, the background paper is one that has been in my stash for ages, I think it is Kaisercraft, but I can't be certain. I then stitched around the edges and attached some washi tape, and another piece of patterned paper (My Minds Eye). I popped the main image panel using foam adhesive, and attached some flowers next to the sentiment. Here is the close up -
I am entering this into two challenges... the first is the pastels challenge from Saturated Canary Challenge, and I used the sketch challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches (gosh I love their sketches!)
Thanks for popping by! Don't forget, if there is anything you want/need from my store, get in before the end of the week, as I will be popping it on "vacation mode" while I'm away!

Saturated Canary - Blank Purple Card

Hi guys! I'm seriously procrastinating writing an essay at the moment, so I thought I'd share a card with you!
I recently acquired this stamp, from Saturated Canary. It was second hand when I bought it, but how adorable is she?! I had to ink her up, pretty much straight away... I sat with my friend Kel, and had coffee, and coloured her up... sitting in the cafe... It's a great way to spend an afternoon! I used my spectrum noir markers, and just used what ever colours took my fancy... which isn't a way I usually create... Usually I pick my papers first! I then brought her home, fussy cut her out, and had to find papers that matched! I trawled through my stash, and found this light purple patterned paper (Grace Taylor) that has been in my stash for maybe 4 yrs! I layered it up with some off cuts from Kaisercraft, and MME. The paper flowers and button are from my stash as well.
I decided to leave this card sentiment-less for the time being... When I use it, I'll pop a sentiment on it!
I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, and the challenge from Saturated Canary - Good vs. Bad... this chicky looks like she is so pure, and innocent... perfect for the "good" theme!

Saturated Canary - Late Valentines Card

Hi there!
I've spent the last few days in bed, trying to out-sleep an ear infection. Unfortunately, it means I've now been awake since 11pm (3am now). I made this card a couple of nights ago...

I started out by printing this digi image from Saturated Canary onto some X-Press It blender card, and a second time onto some patterned paper from My Minds Eye, I then coloured her up using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I trimmed the image down and set it aside. I then gathered my card supplies. I used another piece of the patterned paper from the My Girl 6x6 paper stack, some ribbon that has been in my stash for a long while, a 3D heart from Typo, and some flowers from D-Lish. The sentiment is computer generated, and cut out using MFT Die-Namic. I added a little bit of washi tape behind the heart and finished off the card with some doodling, and of course, a smattering of rhinestones.

I am entering this into the Saturated Canary challenge, which this week is Love

Saturated Canary - Girly Card

Hi again! I have been crafting again, but, yesterday, instead of blogging I went clothes shopping instead. I don't usually enjoy clothes shopping, in fact... I hate it most of the time. But, yesterday, I wandered, tried on clothes, looked around and left with a top and shoes... *happy dance* I made this card on Friday night, after work.
I started by printing the Fancy digital stamp from Saturated Canary onto some white cardstock (I find this one from Officeworks good for my markers when I run out of X-Press It blender) I then coloured her up using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I discovered quite quickly, I need new nibs for a lot of my markers, because this girl is fine lines! I then gathered my papers, (all from my scrap stash) and built my card. I used a mix of My Minds Eye, Echo Park, and Teresa Collins. I have no idea what brand the pink one is.... I stamped my sentiment (SOG) and added some rhinestone highlights.
Hopefully in this picture, you can see the little bit of silver highlights in her hair, all the "beads" were coloured using a shiny silver marker.
I am linking this card up to the Saturated Canary challenge, the Simon Says Stamp (Anything goes) challenge, and also Give A Girl a Blog Currently Creative link list.

Saturated Canary - Jules

Hi Again! I recently discovered Saturated Canary images, as digital stamps, and let me just say, I love them! I thought they would be more difficult to colour than they actually were..... here is my card using Jules
Isn't she just the sweetest thing you ever saw?! I coloured her using my Spectrum Noir Markers, and knew I wanted to match her up to some Authentique patterned papers that were left over from the card I made the other day. I embossed the white piece using the Polka Dots embossing folder from SU! I then cut a border out using a (new for me) MFT Die-namic {faux crochet border} using some glitter paper, to match her petticoats. I then looped some pink ruffled ribbon around the top of the border die, and adhered it to the back. The side panels were begging to have something added to them, so I went through my jar of buttons, and came up with some that matched (!!) and adhered them down. The big yellow one has got a little bit of  Ivory Jute Twine, which arrived in happy mail yesterday. I added two little pieces of bling as well, before adhering Jules using a bunch of dimensionals.
Here's a close up of her adorable little face -
