Stampin' Up! Trendy Trees - Thinking of You Card

Hi all!
I made this card this morning, but thought I'd spread my posts out a little bit, so you're not bombarded with posts....
I made this card to add to my growing collection of cards for the Newcastle Show which is coming up in 2 weeks! I used a couple of challenges to get my mojo started.... The first was the Curtain Call Colour Challenge, once again a tricky colour combo! I wasn't going to add the little bit of green in my chalking, but I needed to 'ground' my trees, so they got grass.... The second challenge I am entering this into is the Less is More challenge, which this week is a recipe challenge, to use 3 squares.
This card is currently sitting on my computer desk, with me humming and haaing about whether I like it... what are your thoughts?
Happy Stamping!

  1. I think that the squares would have worked perfectly well without the label showing behind them. Did you need that section to add a colour for your other challenge?
I love those little trees, I should dig mine out more often.
Thanks for joining us and we hope to see you next time!

  2. As you have said what did we think, looking at it I wonder if the trees would have worked in an L shape, so that they balanced with the Thinking of you. They would have looked a bit more cut out of a larger sheet, if you see what I mean
However, your card is charming and thank you for joining us, it's GREAT to see you
    See you next week

  5. A very nice card and interesting color combinations. I agree with the other comment that this would have been a stronger design for a CAS card without the yellow marquee in the background. The sentiment could have lined up right along the bottom edge of the lowest square for an effective use of negative space. JMHO, but a lovely execution overall.

  6. Lovely card Jess, love the colour and images of the 3 squares (I have to agree with others though, you don't need the label - detracts a bit from the trees).

  12. You did a lovely job with the chalking behind the trees, and I love the faux stitching that frames the card. Thanks for joining us at the Curtain Call again this week!
