Stamping 411 - Chalking with Stampin' Up! Pastels!

I've been admiring my team mate Sarah's creations using Chalking using Stampin' Up! Pastels that used to come in the demonstrator kit. I've had my kit for over 3 months, and have never opened the Pastels... Well, tonight thanks to a final push from Stamping 411, with their tutorial about Poppin' Pastels, I cracked open these babies, and am I glad I did....
I used Crumb Cake card stock, then layered Night of Navy on it. I stamped the Upsy Daisy stamp set in VersaMark, then got the chalks on it (not sure of the colours, they don't have the names on em....) After colouring the image, I tore the Whisper White card stock, layered it on a now retired Designer Series Paper.  I punched a circle shape and two scalloped circles one in Night of Navy, the other Certain Celery, and layered those and pop-dotted them off the page. The sentiment is also from a now retired hostess set (The Best is Yet to Come.) Let me know what you think of the chalking, does it do anything for you? Give it a go today!

  1. Great job on this wonderful technique. Love the colors you used It is a fun medium to use, and if you just use pastels on your card you can spray it with a hairspray to make it a fixative like the versamark is in this technique.
