New Stampin' Up! Stamps see Ink!

Today is Saturday, which means a few new challenges were released that I had to participate in! First up, was the Just Add Ink challenge, which was to use these colours

To be completely honest, I groaned when I saw this colour combination.... When I see pastels, my heart sinks and Baby card comes to mind... I tried really hard to step away from this and decided to combine it with the Clean and Simple Fall to Layout 113. I inked up my newest wheel stamp Take a Sip (120323) and rolled it on some white card. I then got out my blender pens and my Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Bashful Blue ink pads and water coloured the image. I then cut it into three 1.25 inch squares and layered it on Bashful Blue. I was at a bit of a loss as to what to do for the sentiment, and decided on one of the sentiments from Upsy Daisy (115898) in Pear and Blushing Bride, this was cut out with the Modern Label Punch (119849) and attached using some twine. 

The second challenge I decided to enter was the Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge 174. The sketch was fairly basic, and I knew I wanted to do another Christmas Card, as I have to start building my stash of them, as its only a short while away.... I received Dasher (121592) in my order last week, so had to crack it out, ink it up and see what it looks like. I stamped him in Cherry Cobbler, and layered the stamped image on more Cherry. The background for this one is Whisper White (a third of which has been embossed using the Big Shot), with a strip of Cherry. The bling and ribbon are not SU! (or as one friend put it, contraband.... hehe) but I think it set the whole card off
