Stampin' Up! Zoo Review and I create a Giraffe Scrapbook Page

I have been participating in a 52 layout challenge over at The Scrapbooking Haven, and this week it was to scrapbook a ''collection.'' I collect giraffes. They have been my favourite animal for a long time, and slowly, people realised, and gave me giraffes... I have a bunch of stuffed toys including one a friend made me, bookmarks, key rings, a pillow, and a painting my best friend from high school painted me (she is crazy talented!). So, I scrapbooked about my collection
The coloured picture is a photo of the painting I received off of my friend, the other is a giraffe I bought from the zoo. I have used a Kraft base, and torn some giraffe paper my mum bought me when she went to Melbourne a couple of years ago, and some woodgrain paper. I have layered on some ruffled ribbon and a border punch. The patterned paper flower is from my friend Kelly from Kel's Kaszazz Kaleidoscope (Hi Kelly!) and the giraffe is from Zoo Review, I stamped him on to some worn looking patterned paper, drew around his outline with a Stampin' Write Marker, and then fussy cut him out.

Thanks for dropping by, if you have any questions, please leave a comment :)

Stampin' Up! Zoo Review and I create a note card for a friend

So, a lot of people know I like giraffes, I have a whole bunch of them in my house, mostly of the stuffed toy variety, including a handmade one from a wonderful friend... When I saw the 2011/2012 Stampin' Up! Ideas Book and Catalogue, and noticed there was a stamp set with a giraffe in it, said stamp set practically jumped into my hands! Now, what is a little bit sad is, that stamp set has been sitting looking at me all forlornly, begging to be inked up, and I've ignored it.... until today
I have started with a Very Vanilla card base, which I have layered with some Early Espresso, (which was run through the Big Shot, using a wood grain embossing folder), I then cut some scallops out of So Saffron and have them peeking out behind... I then focused on my image panel. I stamped the giraffe on Watercolour paper and again on a scrap of Vanilla. On the Watercolour piece, I coloured the giraffe using my Stampin' Write Markers and a Blender pen, and very carefully cut him out. On the Vanilla piece, I coloured the grass and created a shadow around my giraffe using a Sahara Sand marker. I then layered the coloured giraffe on to the vanilla piece, and finished off my image panel by sponging the edges on So Saffron and Peach Parfait. The sentiment is from the retired set, Hello, You and has been stamped using More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie Markers. This card was finished off with a piece of Vanilla Seam Binding (I love this stuff) and a bow tied.
I am entering this into two challenges, the first is the CR84FN Colour challenge, which is Yellow, Orange and Brown. The second challenge is the Mojo Monday sketch.
As always, thanks for dropping by!
Happy Stamping!
